    Why have you got an earth point down by the starter? It should be up on the back of the inlet manifold?

    No. It's an earth, so should not be connected to the starter. Not the positive on the starter anyway.

    What colour is the wire on the temp plug? Looks brown, in which case it should be an earth.

    I'd always have a head skimmed if the engine got over temp, also the head maybe cracked somewhere which would need testing to eliminate. Did you torque the bolts correctly? And clean the mating faces properly?

    You can use the obd2 throttle body, I've got the wiring diagram somewhere for when I was going to wire it into my old emerald unit. The dta will replace the vr ecu, and it should come with a plug that you'll have to wire into the loom. It should also come with a general wiring diagram, but you'll need a multimeter to check wires and their locations on the engine loom. Kevs wired a dta into a vr before so he's the best person to speak to. Just take your time, and use the correct terminal crimps (as they are different to normal crimps) and you'll be fine.     What an awesome day! Great start to this years up and coming show season, turn out was good, with a few new faces too. Thanks to Bungy, for has organisation (and chilli!), Janspeed for hosting us for the day and the insight into their workshops, Jake for his hospitality suite (redneck style), and those that turned up an ran - it wouldn't have happened without! Roll on the next....
