Rotrex Supercharged R36 Highline *UPDATED 5/11/8*
Phat VR6 replied to Lizard Racing's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
Inlet looks easily big enough now its in the bay lol, I see what you mean about that engine mount. Seems really far over to the right ... Is there another one going at the front on the left hand side? With all that power it looks like theres going to be a lot of strange on them. Them ports are MASSIVE, couldn't p&p them if you tried lol Looks like a brand new engine. Is it getting build up or left standard internal wise? -
looks like the CV joint failed and left the drive shaft spinning inside it. Why did it need towing? Loss of drive?
-
also use a block, Don't use your hands, Only use hands on curved edges. Best off to do the curves first and then the flats after. As said above speckle with black paint but also keep looking down the pannel and running your hands over. High build priming is wicked stuff aswell

As long as your engine is healthy you should just be able to bolt that kit on and just chill out, No need to rebuild your engine or anything like that, I think lizard racing is more on about really big power builds, I think eat this and xyber are both running stage 2 and above on standard engines???

lol hope so but ive never smoothed anything before, Done abit of welding and panel repair in the past tho so it kind of helps. Ill find out if its any good once painted and in the sun light :S Done abit more Cardboard template, Turns out its just a 48mm strip of metal, No awkward shapes to work with Tack welded to get square Fully tack welded Realy take your time hear, I worked 1" at a time cooling with wet rag but it still wasn't enough Fully welded Grind welds off flush Have a perv lol, Note the distorted metal, This means more filler later on :-( , Note really ideal First

haha, tbf im not that surprised you've ended up with a 3.6, i kind of expected it from you. Nice fab work on the inlet btw,, Looks a little small tho? Isn't the capacity inside the tube bit ment to be equal to the capacity of the engine or something like that? Anyway to say the least im jealous, Oh is it going to be FI? and what bhp u got planned for it? -
sounds like your valve stem seals have gone mate, Changing the plugs wont help but might help deside what cylinder its smoking from If it when you accelerate then that would surjest its your piston rings, compression test would rule this out Does it mainly happen when you let off the throttle?

Just started to smooth/ french my boot. Thought id try and do a guide for anyone interested in doing it 1st Remove the badge and keep this bit as its the prefix size to make your plate Draw round it and cut out of 1.5mm steel with jigsaw File to make for a good fit, You want to make it sit as flush as possible without it sticking out Grind away wiper hole till flush Remove paint around badge hole to be welded You need to protect the glass as welding splatter and grinder sparks melts into the surface, I used thin ply as cloth didn't do the job Tack weld the plate in Fully weld plate, D

Phat VR6 replied to benjoshua's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
:S MISSION lol sounds like you've missed a spacer tube or something, My mate did it on his mk1 so when you pushed down on the car the thread came out the top mount -
Got some, Not fitted them as they look a bit cheep to me. Dont realy fit the sills well tbf. Saying that tho everyone else i know liked them

wait till she leaves the car park / work property and then tail gate her with a pinch of wheel spinning, Lairy swaying and a VR grunt overtaking. Next day laff shake your head at her and clam you haven't a clue what shes on about, make everyone else think shes nutter, To add to insult pass her your phone and get her to ring the police. This should leave her feeling slightly helpless and less petty in the future Option two, (slightly nicer) If you ever find her in your rear view mirror drive at 10mph

it is a case chopping out the floor pan and then mounting the subframes / front end in the back From what ive read you need to then reinforce the shell as you've lost lots of strength so a full roll cage/ space frame fully welded to the shell would sort it Rear calipers need mountings so youve got a handbrake, And track rods would need fixing Youd need to find out front struts will fit up the rear turrets so there might be more chop and welding to do there Also spring tension and all that shiz would need to be considered to get it to handle right Dude what uni you taking your engineering cou

Hello, Ive wound my car alot lower on my coilovers and after this my cars noticeably wont go round corners aswell as it used to and the ride has become really hard and bumpy, Over some bumps in the road at say 80 ive come out my seat about 5" lol Do you think im resting on my bump stops? I was thinking and this would stop the dampers working and would exsplane the rubbish ride and handling?? The main question lol, Is it safe to cut my bump stops down in size? Also what is bump steer? Ive hurd it said and that if you go two low so the wishbones angle upwards and not square than this causes
