  1. Ive been messing around down behind my dash and fuse box fitting my electric window loom and Central locking. All has gone well but now after finishing the job my speedo doesn't work... Ive checked the 2 blue plugs that go into the fuse box with all the white wires on them that goes up to the clocks and there both plugged in properly without any pins pushed out or any visual brakes in the wires Is there any other wires, fuses, relays down there that have any think to do with the speedo, Everythink else works on the clocks.... I think ive disconnected something down there... eather that or im
  2. Lift the hole lot up some more and there should be enuff room. Im guessing the hole lots drops some after removing the front mount. You can go up quite alot just watch the exhaust for catching on the bottem of the car Failing that try taking the mount out first and the bolts for the bracket out after. tbf i can't remember having trouble getting them bolts out as i remove that bracket to make it easyer to get the mount out. Get some pics if you still can't do it Good luck
  3. lol my bad, Prity sure one of the shit guards on my current 8v (O/S) is different, What tools do you need over the standard tools ive probably got in my tool box to change a diff?
  4. as far as the black plastic cover goes there them internal star washers about the side of a 2p. If you just pull on it and get in there with a big screw driver and ease it down it will come off
  5. lol dude you just wasted some time but not to worry, If you remove the 2 bolts on the clutch slave cylinder then theres no need to undo the pipe/ loose the fuild and have to re bleed the sytem, Just undo the 2 bolts pull the slave cylinder out and cable tie it up out the way all conected like. Also there was no need to drain the gear oil as its a sealed unit, Another perk that VWs have You will have no problems getting it out as you just gotta guide it out with the aid of gravity... Putting it back in again is where it gets a pain in the arse if the gearbox doesn't just slide off then you s
  6. ive got new polly bushes all round, Still need ARB. Before i wound it down more the wishbones where pretty much level and it handled great, Ive lost all that since i went alot lower. What i wanted to do was work see if theres any way of going silly low while keeping the handling but it looks like there isn't
  7. never really hurd of it before but its alright, bass lines are good anyway.. Im more into Dnb liquid old skool tbf, If you like bass you should go down VALVE one time... wicked night
  8. I like the manifold and bottles, Where did you get the washer bottle from?
  9. It is quite easy as alex has said, Id get it as high as you can on axel stands, And don't rush, Check theres nothing attached around it, Few more things is the gear select cables and the electric plugs, You want to support the engine on a trolly jack and lower it down so the gearbox can pass under the chassie leg, Your lucky mate VWs are nice to work on Alex do you change diffs yourself?
  10. This is brilliant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfe6nY5qmQY

  12. Im not 100% sure but in my head if you where to sit there without the engine running pressing the button this would fill the inlet up then when you do come to start it BANG lol Bet they where all there like kids playing with the buttons ff before they drove it lol
  13. hello, Can a ask a quick question to all that's been to the ring before please. It looks like Ive found a fair few of my mates that want to come at the same but there cars are standard non sporty type hatchbacks, For example someones got a 7 year old standard 1.4 clio, 1.3 mk2 golf ect ect, Are they going to be aloud round the ring or is there some rules on how good the cars have to be.. This should be mint if all goes to plan
  14. GFS and Car spares.. Thats where id go
  15. I MIGHT be able to make this one, Say hi, show my face and all that... get over taken many many times in my 8v lol
  16. hi, this might sound silly but why didn't you just raise the coilovers to your disired height? Also the higher the coilover are the softer they become!
  17. :-( Nope it isn't tbf, I wasn't inspecting it to be perfect been out of spray cans, 80% of the time its covered it dirt anyway lol, After 2 weeks when its dryed im going to cut it, polish it and wax it and it should look better but def not factory standard When I can afford it im going to buy compressor and do the red one, Probably doing somthing a little more unique with it, With a proper spray gun i should be able to get a thicker more glossy finish, The spray cans didn't seem to put in on thick enough, Failing that get a body shop to put a proper coat on or wait until i can afford a
  18. Its on the bottom half on mine, Can't see how that would make a difference tho
  19. Normaly around £500 fella.. Personaly id get one out of a scrap yard for £50- £100 and risk it.. but im poor lol
  20. how can a less powerfull, slower all round car be quicker round a track?
  21. Looking good and like the fact its a track wepon, You should fit a big sheet of ply down the lenth of the underside sitting flush with the front splitter then bending up at the back to come flush with the rear, That should increase downforse lol On another note as your obvs track your car, would you stay that a 16v mk3 would be faster round a track than a VR??
