  1. what i would do is get a couple of crocodile clips and bolt them together, attach one end to a solid metal part of the engine to get a good earth... remove one spark plug and hold it with other end of the croc-clips around the threads... plug it into the HT lead and see whether theres a strong spark... repeat for each plug, if one or two arent spraking go from there, if not then its probably a fueling issue gl
  2. one of the digits in the chassis number denotes which factory the car came out of, theres a thread about it already if u do a search mines from wolfsburg:D EDIT: just done a search and cant find the post, maybe it was on a different forum, anyway try here
  3. i had a rattle from the heat shield type thing located under the gearstick, managed to get a jubilee clip round the shield and exhaust pipe to hold it in place and its caused me no problems since:)
  4. mine was a '95 and the number on the invoice is 92526 ^^^thats OBD1 btw^^^
  5. agree with that, for some reason everyone in a small french hatchback with a laughably large aftermarket exhaust seems to want to try it on
  6. i picked one up on ebay £25 delivered from germany pretty good deal i thought
  7. did u check spark more than one HT lead? maybe u have a loose connection on the low tension circuit leading to the coil pack... only say thios ocs u would expect it to keep running on 5 lumpily if only 1 spark wasnt getting thru... when one oif the coils in my coil pack went i did manage to get it running on 4 but very lumpily
  8. just alter the 1st image tag of each pic to {img width=640} <--using square brackets of course

  11. check out your service schedule and see what needs doing, just because its a year since yr last service doesnt necessarily mean that u need a "major" service. Also u could go to the guys that gave u the quote and ask them to explain exactly what u get for yr money (which parts will be replaced etc,)
  12. karma in action is a beautiful thing:)
  13. well mines never said it and ive had IN01 and IN02.... strange *-)
  14. IIRC the way the codes work is: IN01 - means u have reached the specified distance (mileage) since last service IN02 - means u have reached the specified time for a service ie. 1 year since last service i think theres also one called OEL or similar which means u need an oil change but i dont think u get this on UK spec cars thats just from memory so im open to correction re:MPG totally depends what speeds u were doing on the motorway the difference in MPG between 70mph and 90mph is larger than u might expect
  15. dont diss the electric supercharger, ive got 50 of then lined up in serial to give me a gazillion bhp increase
  16. mines a bit tempremental, sometimes it closes on full closure, sometimes not:/ its been doing this since i got the car over a year ago, not sure why tho:(
  17. yeah getting the coolant out was fine. thats a good idea tho i will flush it with clean water b4 refilling with coolant. what about bleeding the system? or is it just a case of fill her up then run engine and top up till it stays at the same level in the expansion tank?
