  1. I too would be grateful for the use of VAGCOM if u happen to have it, its about time i sorted out my ABS light.... I did have a guy at the garage plug a diagnostics machine into my car but he seemed a little unsure of what he was doing, and replacing the sensor which he told me was faulty didnt help me one little bit.... EDIT: I tell a lie, it helped me relieve some of the burdensome weight from my wallet:(
  2. hehe nice to have a challenge, we can battle it out for the wooden spoon;)
  3. seems a bit strange to me that anyone would leave a decent engine like that sitting in a garage for 12 years and then just flog it for a few hundred quid on ebay.... maybe im just too cynical
  4. having a look at the cars that will be there i reckon i could well win the competition for who has the LEAST bhp:(
  5. WOOHOO i was beginning to get worried for a while there:) my mate and i will be coming round the m25 from the m4 junction but im not sure if theres anywhere to meet if u r getting on at the m40
  6. the seats should fit the door cards will not, the doors on a 3 door are longer
  7. only a week to go now, some news from Helen would be comforting.....
  8. im not really a mechanic either but if something has sheared inside the clutch then there would be no connection between the engine and gearbox anyway so selecting gears wouldnt be a problem???
  9. theres a list in the front of the service schedule (if u have one) that tells you what needs to be done at various mileage intervals.... i think that in01 means that you have reached the "time" for a service (1 year since previous service) and in02 means you have reached the "mileage" for a service (10k miles since last service) so its the service schedule which tells you how major the service actually is...
  10. so, Helen or Gavin? did we actually get the date confirmed, seeing as we are getting close now and the last list only appears to have 2/3 of the ppl paid up...
  11. looks like a new mini on steroids to me;)
  12. ive never driven a v-tec but i had mk2 valver and even that was hard work to keep in the power band, id much rather have a nice v6 that will just pull from anywhere.... also theres the sound, v-tecs sounds like an angry bee, whereas vr6s, well, if u r on this site then u probably know:D
  13. dunno tbh i never put them on the car i picked them up 2nd hand from Cabrioman but ive decided to go the coilover route now, i believe they drop 35-40mm so should be enuff to look good.
  14. if u r on a budget i have a set of PI's in the garage that u can have for £40, PM me if u r interested.
  15. basicly its VWs version of climate control, if u have it your heater controls will be buttons with an LCD display, if not u have the standard 3 dial switches and no LCD
  16. i got toyo proxes for £220 for 4 on ebay, it looked to be a regular offer as well....
  17. the cheque is in the post. well actually its a postal order, but u get the idea:)
  18. "crack pipe" lmao isnt the water pump somewhere down in that region?? i seem to remember my valver losing water down there when the pump went, u can tell if its gone cos the pulley wobbles...
  19. dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with having fun in cars, but the blatant disregard that the guy in the video has for the safety of others pisses me off...
  20. i miss my cossie too, unfortunately most cossies are driven by tossers, like the one in that clip. ppl like that are the reason i never joined the RSOC, much better off with the VR6OC imho:)
