  1. SHE LIVES!!! :D got her back on the road today and boy am i happy... ive been driving a mk4 tdi automatic since mines been off the road so its great to be back in a v6 where i get to choose the gears (the way it should be) 1st and 5th are a little notchy but i think thats cos i havent adjusted the selector cables to perfection yet. the only small problem was of my own making really... for my test drive i forgot to reconnect the outside temp sensor and when i came back i found it lying outside my house where the cables had torn out, so theres another job lined up:/ anyway BIG BIG thanx to u

  9. ok thanx ill try taking her up a little and see if i can find some more room there not sure quite what u mean by tipping the front down 1st and the diff at the end... do i twist the box to bring the front down? as far as remembering the angle im gonna go pick up a 2nd hand box tomite so hopefully when the current one comes out ill have a replacement one to go straight in:) as for having fun...if by that u mean swearing for England then yes, you are spot on;)

  11. ok mount disconnected and loqwered the engine about as far as it will go but i havent got enuff space to get the box off:( will get some pics seems like moving the engine forward would help but the exhaust is still connected as the joint at the bottom of the downpipe has bolts that appear to have been welded in:(
  12. ok i have a small problem:( front engine mount is off no problems but the rear one is causing hassle, i finally managed to loosen off the bolts attaching the mounting bracket to the gearbox (pig of a job in the space available:/ ) but theres not enough space to witdraw the bolts past the seating for the engine mount.... HELP PLSE!!!!
  13. so is it still a case of just pulling it off or do i need access to the bolts from the top???
  14. cool, will i need new star washers to refit?
  15. latest pic [img width=640]http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk53/Karr-Man/vr/P9160026.jpg does anyone know how i remove the plastic shield ringed in red (very weedily i know but the only paint app i have atm is ms-paint which is gash tbh) i can see from underneath that it appears to be bolted in from the top but i cant for the life of me see where the bolts are from the top:/ [img width=640]http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk53/Karr-Man/vr/P9160033_b.jpg
