  1. Hi and welcome to the forum. According to my Autodata, the auto gearbox uses VW ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and takes 3.5 litres from empty. It also states that the front differential on an auto takes 0.8 litres. I've never seen or worked on one so I'm not sure if that forms part of the transmisson capacity or not. The rear diff uses 1.0 litre of 75W/90 synthetic oil but you may need to double check that as it does not specify a syncro. As for your drive shafts, again I've not seen a Sharan but on Golfs and Corrados, there are star headed bolts which allow the driveshafts to be removed
  2. i've got a black Highline and it didn''t have adjustable headlights when I bought it as standard. Quad headlights were not standard on these or any UK MK3's as far as I'm aware. Mine also didn't have the wooden steering wheel or gearknob so I will hazard a guess that along with climate control, these were options on Highline models. I stand to be corrected though. Kevin
  3. It would have to be an RS4 with a "few" mods for me.
  4. From past experience, both slave and master cylinders don't have to be leaking to cause the problem that you're having as the internal seals can fail causing the loss of pressure.
  5. I've been insured with Sky since the beginning of the year and I've been impressed with the level of service. They beat the others by a fair amount and don't charge when you make small amendments to your policy. Very helpful over the phone and based in North London
  6. Nice one mate, but Sparkz is my cousin I followed that R32 Turbo out to Germany last month. I've already got a spare one for mine but was also thinking about a possible group buy depending on what prices peeps have paid for theirs. I'll look into it and let folks know. Kevin
  7. Just out of interest, has anybody with a ZR1 or ZR2 charger had to replace the long grooved beltand if so how much did you pay and whre from? Sorry for the hijack but I thought it best to add it here as this seems to be a Z's R Us thread Kevin
  8. Got hold of some Ferodo DS2500 pads and finally got them fitted along with my lovely dimpled and grooved discs Pads Before.... After..... I will be painting my calipers but that's a job for another day.
  9. Hi The belt you're talking about doesn't need to be very tight. Over tightening can and will eventually cause the charger to fail so it's important to get the tension right. I have a Z charger on mine but mine has 2 thin belts. If yours is the toothed belt then it's probably the ZR2. Post a pic of the charger and belt if you can and I'll see if I can help you source one. Kevin
  10. *I got a text message last week from Patrick containing a picture of the MK5 R32 Twin Turbo and nearly choked on my drink when I opened the file* You really should warn forum members about the rude content of your posts cuz. Some people may find it offensive to hear of, and see pictures of such things! I wonder what that would do on 1/4 mile run? hmmm *-) Once again what a selection of cars at SLS Tuning and you took some damn good pics too . The R with the ZR3 charger on it was there when we went last time I think but not finished? Fuming that I couldn't make it out for this return trip bu
  11. i'm not sure why they've added that. I know that some MK3 kits will not be suitable for VR's due to the extra weight of the engine up front but having fitted my own suspension I can honestly say that there is no part of the air con system that will interfere with your suspension. Is the Weitec kit damping adjustable? I've had this kit http://www.gmaxsuspension.co.uk/p1250745.htm fitted to my VR (with air con) for over 3 years and it's served me fine. It's not the hardest of set ups nor the softest but it improved the handling of the car greatly and the height is just right, given the amount of
  12. Good work Ben! At this rate I could start charging. LOL. Anybody else interested? I'll be doing sightseeing tours but you'll need a good camera or most things will be a blurrrrrr...... Rikki, not a problem mate. Next time I'm over at Pat's we'll see what we can sort out. Kaz, as discussed on the phone I'm only in SW17 so definately have meet up, go for a blast and discuss your "options" I'd like to see what difference the Shrick and you other mods have made also.
  13. A wrapped 6 branch does sound good and improve the exhaust gas flow from the head, especially if you go FI. De cat will reduce exhaust back pressure and adds that raspy sound under hard acceleration. The downside is that you get a little more exhaust noise and a bit of popping back on the overrun. Both of which are great imo I've got the same charger as Ben on mine. Like you I had no plans to up the power much but it came up at a good price at the right time. I haven't done cams or injectors and only have the stage 1, 6psi pulley fitted along with a ported & polished head and lightened fl
  14. I think the gearbox mount is referred to as the powertrain one. I went for the stiffer VF front mount with standard gearbox and rear mounts on my charged VR. I've heard good thing about fitting Vibra tech mounts all round as they aren't as harsh as the VF but the combination I went for is perfect for me. The front mount is the one that takes the most stress as the engine lifts when you put your fut down so definately uprate that one. Even at 70k miles, it will have been put under a lot of stress along with the rear one.
  15. Just out of interest, how many miles do you cover in 6 months or do you just change it regardles?
  16. It looked good to me when I passed you at Inters. (The Omega wasn't mine btw)
  17. The early one is flat at the top and the bottom whereas the later one has black plastic at either end and only fits one way. be sure to push the new one on fully before re-fitting the housing and replace the "o" ring that should come with the filter. Kevin
  18. Great pics mate! There's a lovely red 3 door charged MK3 and a black 5 door charged MK3 that you missed out though.....lol
  19. Having been through exactly the same thing with my Mum just over 3 years ago I know how difficult a time this must be Nat. My thoughts are with you and your family.
