  4. yes both were kneckered. they are known as strut top mounts. make sure when u order that the bearings and rubber part are included cos i ordered some and all i got was the rubber and no bearing.

  8. sorely tempted it is just so much money for an old car. would cost basically the value of the car just to charge it
  9. u plum wait till your car is stone cold so all the oil is all settled and then check the level and top it up to high. Never do it when your car is warm as it gives a false indication as the oil is stuck all over the internals of the engine and not settled in the sump. The engine takes 6 litres but just check it as u top it up
  10. well an update this is how she looked about 3 months ago she is currently on my mates ramp having had a new stainless scorpion. A full set of powerflex bushes a set of FK highsports braided brake pipes also have 2 new wings to go on and all the horrible rust spots are getting sorted pics of the work on their way
  11. Who are you insured with?!? Elephant I must add the car has a cat2 alarm and i am in the lowest possible rated postcode i am also a memeber of IAM!!!
  12. they are realy expensive to run if you have no luck. for example my first MOT cost 650 quid. It was going to fail this year on all the breaks so iv uprated them and fitted a scorpion exhaust. Also the bushes were knackered so proflex ones were fitted. then my brake pipes were damaged so braided flexi's were fitted and new brake pipes. decided i wanted coilovers. So the cost so far and it aint even MOT'd yet about 1200!!! probably half the value of my car but in my eyes well worth it and i aint finished yet. insurance aint that bad im 24 i have 3 years NCD and i have all mods declared for 286
  13. well just had a look about 2500 would get a stage 3 but prob go stage 2 first then upgrade as i save more money. I feel the credit card taking a hit lol!!!!! now to tell the bird even though iv just spent 1200 on bits in the last 2 weeks!!! wish me luck
  14. what are the differences between the varous VF engineering models V1, V2 & V9 i have heard mentioned?? I am looking to buy a second hand kit in the near future was hoping for around 280-290bhp which kit is best and what price should i be looking at?? My car has done 102k but my chains seem fine should i do them anyway or wait till they need done?? Is their anybody in scotland who does mapping??? i have just fitted uprated bushes vibratech front engine mount and a set of FK coilovers what other supporting mods will i need. i appologise if it's been asked before but iv searched and looked a

  17. basically i remember looking through auto trader as a kid 12 or 13 and seeing a golf which was for sale with a 2.8 V6 which i thought was mighty impressive. i decided i would own one day. i ended up having to buy a mk2 16v with full coilover splitties and full leather. cam'd with a gas flowed head as my first car. bought it for 1000 sold it for 1800. it handled like a dream infact i would buy it back if i could. i then bought my current car from a salvage yard for pennies and rebuilt her. she is on a cat C but you would never know. was going to SC her but going the scooby route shortly althoug
  18. i have had about 110 but my rev limiter has been raised by 500rpm. don't like doing it rarely take the car past 6k
  19. i tried it once waht a nightmare took me the best part of a week to rub them down properly. eventuall gave up and got them powder coated for £100
  20. did u take the pedal off mate mine has done the same and snapped the rod off the master cyclinder aswell. so i have a new master cyclinder and the plastic clip. does the bit of metal on the top of the pedal weld to the top or kind of fit in???

  22. well a mate of mine had a 16v and off the mark i was able to tear past him about 60ish and the gap just got bigger and bigger and i managed a 15 dead
