well it's basically got to be missing so coilpack, leads or plugs. Try starting your car at night and pop the bonnet see if you can see any arcing. If there is none get a VAGCOM done could also be a dodgy crank or cam shaft sensor.
fitted my car out recently and the wishbone bushes fitted ok but there seemed to be play in the metal shim when i put the bolt through. It now makes a loud crack when i go from reverse to forward. I was told it was an engine mount but they seem to be ok. One of my mates believes there was a shim that was fitted in the original bushes that was not supplied has anybody an idea if he is speaking crap or has he got a point??
a set of pads in a day!!! a bit of an exageration??? HellsVR6 i know how it feels to fit/buy all those parts i just bought and had fitted FK highsports Full Scorpion exhaust system Full set of Prowflex bushes New back lights All new uprated disks and pads all round New rear bearings New drop links 2 new wings (yet to be fitted) Then it failed it's MOT nearly spewed when the garage phoned Lucky all i had to do was adjust one of the headlights for it to pass not to bad considering i had just spent 1400 on parts and 200 on fitting ouch
they are all meant to be 174bhp at the flywheel although OBD2 engines usually make more. mine made 198bhp and 183lb/ft torque with just an exhaust an induction kit and a piggy back chip
i will leave them on my car but going to keep the originals in the boot along with a bit of double sided tape incase i do get stopped i can then change them. My local police force don't like me as it is so will see how i get on.
u know what was even better!! the car/bike that ran before the golf ran 7.49!!!!! still a beast although my mates evo runs 12's all day with very little done!!!!
my ABS aint worked for ages and it still passes the MOT. i just took the bulb out more hassle than it's worth if u ask me. your best form of ABS is your right foot
no the crankshaft pulley will not turn by hand!!!!!!!! I believe the crankshaft and the water pump pulleys should be smooth would need to check though.
ah i understand now yes coilovers are alot thinner than normal shocks explains your problem il agree nice colour of car here is a pic of mine slammed at the back
ah may explain another noise if that it!! only ever clunks when i reverse then go forward again passed it's MOT on sat with the noise cos they could find nothing wrong with it. Was just given an advisory saying "noise from ns front?" he said it was all tight as u like just he couldn't explain the noise
