yep green plastic ball is the vacuum tank .... so it has a coil on the bulkhead with a single lead coming out of the middle doing to the middle of the distributor cap...???? that is a result for you as your VSR should be controlled from the ecu with its own special chip......

it should look like this then - as far as i know they are all engraved - don't know why yours isn't?? mine had a silver sticker with a part number on it in the lower right hand corner when i got it - the number was 021 133 202 VWM i removed the sticker when i polished it up but kept it at home......(sad case i know) does it look like this under the lead covers ???

that certainly is an unexpected bonus!!!! the ecu is under the black plastic trim at the bottom of the screen (under the wipers) you should have a vacuum tank , some hoses , and the appropriate chip in the ecu .. does your car have a dizzy or a coil pack ???

i wish i had too much money!!!! sell something - use the money to buy something else - that's how i do it matey !!! remember i have had my car for 4 years now - it's been a gradual process along the way !!!!!!

i'm in the process of swapping from std black interior to a grey leather one the front and rear cards are now in , my front recaros and rear vento bench with armrest are going away to be trimmed to match asap.. i'm not too keen on the grey handles and switches though so i'm gonna have a grey/black theme goin on!! what do you reckon peeps???

engine speed sensor (cam)...help !!!

the engine speed sensor in NORMALLY the crank sensor ... from vw this is very expensive - £151.33 !!! however the cam sensor (sometimes called hall sensor) is much cheaper - £40.71 ... both do cause problems with general engine running including high revs and stalling ... however first thing to do if you haven't yet it to clean out the throttle body as it cakes caked in crap and causes stalling and dodgy idle.... -
mine did the same on the way to work one day .. turned out to be one of the bolts holding the gear selector cables to the top of the gearbox!! tightened it up again and had all gears again ... don't know if this helps or if you have the same problem - but worth a look i guess......
