  1. looks like it was a really good show.. shame i couldn't make it :-( :-( the yellow german post office split van looks cooool as see ya at E38 then :-p :-p
  2. that really is horrid..
  3. sounds like another name for the cam position sensor - makes loads of difference if it plays up.. :-( only about £30 from VW though and easy to fit too
  4. i don't know if anybody reads "volkswagen driver" magazine - the people who print it run gti inters .. we get it delivered at work to read and i saw this : - two pics of the vr6oc display .... nice
  5. i'd love to go on a track day but it's cost that stops me!!!! to quote seademon " it was only £250" you must earn more than i do mate - i don't have that much for the whole month after paying bills and rent etc....... maybe i need a better job... naaaaaaaaaaah i work for vw - good enough for me
  6. looks like a private plate to me??? but it's fully colour coded... then again it has square side repeaters?? come on vr6honey, how old is yr car ?????
  7. absolutely - cars registered 1st jan 1993 onwards must have a cat to pass the mot.. if yours was first registered before this,as said above J or early K plate it will not need one .....
  8. here is my key : - split along the line arrowed : - transponder will be in the gap arrowed (mine does not have one as it is pre '96 - but i have 2 other immobilisers!! ) be careful they do break easily but it can be done richie
  9. only vw can code them as far as i know!! it is done by a secure line to vw uk - the old immobiliser codes are transmitted to them, and they send new ones back for the new key... effectively the car is programmed to the key AND the key is programmed to the car !! but you should be able to split the old key in half and CAREFULLY remove the transponder. then you can put it into your new key and it will work.. alternatively remove the transponder from the old key and tape it inside the surround for the ignition barrel..this will obviously have the same effect as placing the old key near the barre
  10. HAD some :-( :-( they are gone now..... and thanks mate - they were pretty cool for a temporary wheel borrowed for a while - here are some pics .. they were on my mates car then they went onto mine for a while even look ok with the trims on!!!! now they are on another mates car...... they were from a new beetle 6.5x16 5x100 go straight on except you need to trim a teeeny bit from the front caliper carriers to clear them .... i'm sure mk4 golfs do a 16" steel too, or you can get winter wheels from an audi s3 which are a slightly higher offset and are set out a bit further............
  11. i'll be there most definately..... i will tell everyone i know with a v6, be it a vr6 or a mk4 v6 4 motion, a corrado or an r32.. the more the better ....
  12. just the unscrewable rod is £20 from vw the whole aerial is about £35..... to remove the base you need to remove the trim along the rear edge of the headlining - open the boot it's along the top by the hinges, then slide your hand in above the headlining GENTLY , undo the big nut , unplug and remove it ... not too bad a job, just done mine recently.. it is abit fiddly though, small hands are better

  15. engine speed sensor is normally the crank sensor, on the front of the block under the oil filter : - it's held in with a 5mm allen key ..plugs in njust above the starter motor... if not the only other sensor is the cam sensor which is on the end of the head under the end plug lead holder .... (thanks to whoevers pic i used, found it with google...)
  16. that is a cool photo... wish i didn't have a 3 hr drive to get home ..... maybe we can have a lunch time photo sesh next time????
  17. ok then peeps, here are some of my 150 photos!!! our display, some of our cars, and some other motors from the day ....... had a great day, managed to get slightly sunburt on my head despite it not being that sunny, but oh well roll on E38
  18. there are 2 different types of clip available from vw some of them stick out more than the others due to the shape of the door ... make sure you have the right ones in the right places 1st, then, make sure the green grommets are fully onto the clip and the clips are properly on the moulding before pressing them into the door..... hope this helps . . . . .
  19. having driven both , the r32 is much better both inside and out....
  20. mine is on 8x16's all round.. with the rear arches rolled on nothing done on the fronts at all - i have no rubbing problems with my coilies wound almost right down.... you can go pretty damn low with 16's , just be careful of your sump on the ground !!!
  21. or you can get a sharan one from vw - part number 7M0 128 101 price is 26.59 inc vat ........
