  1. not totally sure on this but you should be able to just disconnect the passenger airbag from the back of the airbag and from the airbag ecu which is located in the area under heater matrix in centre of bottom of dash basically just to the left of clutch pedal behind the plastic casing that covers the exhaust tunnel .

  4. hi mate are you actually based in canada if so over here in england we call your model of jetta i.e 1992 -1997 it is called a vento over here if this is your model the ambient temp sensor is placed in the front bumper grille on the left hand side of car as you face the front end and its just a matter of pulling it out as it just clips in so just to recap if your car is left hand drive as i think it will be it will be on the front passenger side if its right hand drive it will be on front drivers side.

  6. right first of disconnect battery so as not to accidently set off airbag ,then undo 2 allen bolts on back of steering wheel im pretty sure they are 6mm allen bolts you will see the 2 holes they are located in if you look at back of steering wheel then airbag will pop off you just need to pull plug out of back of airbag then its out of way ,then its a 24mm nut to undo steering wheel and pull it off then undo the 3 screws holding the stalks on and carefully unplug them and remove them ,then there is another 6mm allen bolt holding the barrel on but like bazz said you need a special puller to get
  7. no mate no special tools are needed but its important to make sure you get everything spot on when replacing chains and tensioners cos bending valves is quite easy to do if it helps i only charge £250 labour for the job plus the price of parts.
  8. they are not to expensive to buy but can be a bit of a twat to fit mate as you need to raise that end of the engine a bit to remove and refit them i get a good strong bit of wood stick on trolley jack so as not to damage sump then undo rear engine mount and carefully jack engine up with wood between jack and sump make sure piece of wood is longer than sump from front to rear so as to evenly distribute weight then jack up just that end of engine swap over pump and lower jack and rebolt engine mount if your local to stoke on trent i can do the job for £20 plus parts think its about £30-£40 fo

    bonnet!

they can be quite a pain on the rados because they have 2 seperate bonnet catches if cable is not working you will probably have to jack car up and squeeze hand up or a long rod of some sort and manually open both catches

    Gove box!

yes some of the later golfs have a glove box where the bottom tray is you just unbolt the tray and bolt up the glovebox but the lower gloveboxes are hard to find
  25. yes i have done a few of these and i generally get them done in less than 3 hours i know most garages quote to take dash out its a bit of a squeeze but you can do it without removing dash there are 3 10mm nuts that hold matrix in that are located under bonnet on bulkhead and you need to remove the majority of the centre of dash and switches and disconnect the air pipes off of matrix to airvents then you can squeeze it out but be careful because its not strong plastic and bits can break quite easily.
