  1. if you are having tensioners done the gearbox will have to come off so its worth having clutch done at same time
  2. all they are is different shaped top suspension caps basically the metal plate that sits on top of springs when you disconnect shockers it will throw your camber out anyway so you should really get a 4 wheel allignment done whenever your shockers are removed from vehicle and they will only lower car a little bit but basically they wont hurt anything.
  3. no i havnt mate but i would have a go problem with rado back seats is they dont go as wide as most vw rear seats because the rado rear quarter cards stick out further than golfs to take the cards out to the seats hence you are left with a gap either end of seats i do have a complete vr6 rado cloth trim for sale aswell
  4. yes mate i can fit mk4 polo dash for you i have done this before i can also fit the rado back seat for you but the rado back seat will not meet the sides properly on the rear as they are not wide eneough cheers carl.
  5. there are two different types mate as i found out when i had a screen fitted in my old mk3 vr 1 has a female connection and one has a male connection if you post up a pic of your fitting on your screen i should be able to sort you out the correct 1 cheers carl.
  6. where are you based mate because i have several bits of loom about and may be able to rewire for you if you are not to far away.
  7. what year is your rado mate because i havnt come across 1 with the vw ecu immobiliser yet if its just the vw alarm immobilser that works on the remote fob its not that hard to remove but if its one that has a transponder in the key you will have to get vw to code you a new key
  8. try checking this place out mate http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8029981389&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  9. lol it definately tasted worse and the dust made me itch like a twat when i removed it and it was a sachs clutch but to go like that it must have been a faulty clutch plate ive never come accross 1 that bad before it well shocked me
  10. they aint expensive if you go to ford dealers £20 but vw dont list as seperate item and you have to buy it complete with main air intake costing more like £80 from them and ford call it crankcase vent i will try and get the ford part number from work and post it up this evening for you.
  11. Sometimes the testers dont notice specially if light doesnt come on at all and there is no test on actual abs but oficially light should come on when started and go straight off if this doesnt happen the car should fail its mot as this is part of mot those of you who have got away with it are very lucky .
  12. yes mate they are the same as the gti on that year but if its seized you will probably find you need to replace caliper.
  13. to replace front bearings you need a press to press bearings in and out of hub carrier also you need a special puller to remove part of old bearing from hub itself as half of bearing always sticks to hub unless you have these tools dont even attempt it mate but if you do start by removing wheel then loosen driveshaft nut then disconnect abs cables and brake pad sensor cables from behind hub then unbolt brake pad carrier then unbolt tca (steering ball joint nut)then i find it easier to disconnect the 3 bolts that hold bottom ball joint into wishbone located under wishbone then undo the 2 bolts
  14. hi mate what year is your car it sounds like your idle stabilisation valve might be knackered if its obd1 you can replace isv if its obd2 you are prob looking at new throttle body cos isv is built in on them.
  15. yes indeed either your slave in gearbox or master cylinder on bulkhead is leaking and needs replacing mate.
  16. hi mate i should have that part no12 about second hand in good condition also you say you have a cable clutch is it for a mk2 golf ? if so you just need to get a mk2 1.3 golf clutch cable if you need any more help you can ring me on 07957 204 365 (carl) and i will help with any advice i can i have built a few mk2 vr6s now .
  17. i think you will find the pins are colour coded the same on the wires so it should be just a matter of matching the identical wires but if not its just a matter of removing 1 wire at a time from each side of big round plug in identical positions and join em 1 at a time.
  18. with how soft standard vr suspension is id be very surprised if they dont rub when you are carrying passengers or any sort of load in the back mate.
  19. are you opening bottle cap when water is hot if so it will do as you have described putting samco hoses on will just mean you have stronger hoses it wont make any other difference so i would just repair the leak and then as long as there is nothing else wrong it should be fine mate.
  20. did you try and fit the clip onto ball joint before pushing it into pedal because if you put clip into pedal 1st then ball joint wont go in otherwise it should be just a matter of pushing clip onto ball joint
  21. yes mate you have got the right oil has as been said it is made by quantum and its the only 1 that comes in a silver bottle its obviously just the parts bloke in cafyns dont know what hes talking about.
  22. it will more than likely be rear bush in wisbone mate this causes back and forward motion in wheel .
  23. if its clutch slip your rev counter will go up but your car will hardly move and it should slip right through past where your saying and in fact lower down should be less slip til you put foot down i too would get your timing checked and if car has done over 100000 you might need to get new timing chain tensioners and chains sorted.and like has been said if your timing has slipped out of line you need to get this sorted asap or you will kill your engine mate.
  24. I find the miltek cat backs to give nice improvement and not to loud like some exhausts.
  25. check all your breather hoses are intact and firmly connected including rockercover vent 1 as any slight air leaks can cause this problem mate.
