yes mate i can do it if im not to far away for you and as eat this says it works out about £500 all in thats for parts and labour with sachs clutch its basically £250 for labour and £250ish for the parts maybe a little less .and im based in stoke-on-trent cheers carl.

have you changed the relay in ecu and checked all the wires are plugged in correctly the main relay to check is the 3rd 1 along from left hand side top row should have the number 109 on it and have you connected the red and yellow wire with red plug is connected to ignition live it should be on engine loom behind fuse box if you are really stuck and can get it to stoke on trent im sure i could get it running for you.
-
I charge £250 labour plus price of parts which is around the £250 mark with new clutch so round about £500 all in mate.

hi mate your leak will be coming from above somewhere as you shouldnt have oil in cylinder my guess would be either oil breather is leaking a bit into it or rocker cover gasket but id look at oil breather first .
-
have you checked you have fuel lines the right way round on engine and that there is a spark to spark plugs because if you have spark it should fire if pump is lived up generally when im doing vr6 conversions i fit the whole loom on pre 90 vehicles so that they have correct loom and fusebox i find that easier .its worth trying to swap fuel lines over on engine because ive found a couple of times that that is all thats stopping a converted vr from running.
-
ive known them to mess around like this when ignition module is on its way out basically the little electronic module on back of ignition barrel try turning ignition key slightly left and right when lights are turned on if they work when you do this you are probably in need of new module.
-
Hi mate have you tried running a fused live to fuel pump to see if car then runs because your problem could be down to fuel pump relay if your anywhere near stoke on trent im pretty sure i could get it running as i have done quite a few vr conversions now and i am very familiar with the wiring on them.

the isv comes off to the right of the throttle body as you look under bonnet from front it sits just under the black cover that your ht leads go along its a silver cylinder with 2 black air pipes coming off of it and a wire connector with 2 wires coming out of it this could be your problem but it could also be down to crap in throttle body so you might want to clean that out aswell.
-
sounds like its in limp home mode you really need to get it put on vag-com to check it wwill probably be down to crank shaft sensor but there are a couple of things that can do this.
-
Are you using vag-com for diagnostics mate because it sounds like the hall sender in the distributor but that should show up on diagnostics i take it you have got the old style distributor and seperate coil rather than a coilpack because i have also known coilpacks to go down like this aswell.

it is possible there is a kit you can get to convert your vr6 gearbox to cable change instead of hydraulic if you call me during the day on saturday i will give you the part number for the part you need and you will need to use a mk2 golf 1.3 clutch cable with it but if you call me i will give you all the details .cheers carl 07957 204 365.

Mayo is common on vrs that are only used for short journeys mate generally its just a bit of condensation try giving it a bit of a run so it gets time to warm up properly and see if that clears it up mate. -

kilokilla replied to billy45's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
on the bottom of the column there is a 13mm nut and bolt undo that and take the bolt out then you can pull the whole steering column straight out of its housing with the ignition barrel attached then with a little phillips screwdriver you can just about undo ignition switch and replace it while it is still attached to the shaft. -
CAR starts then cuts out and oil can flashes
kilokilla replied to jezmoz's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
mmmm it shouldnt have the coded key immobiliser on a 93 model but it could still be your immobiliser i have had lots of problems similar to this due to immobilisers but it could also be down to your ignition module mate as these can also be a problem. -

personally i would say its more likely to be the oil pressure switches mate which are located in the top of oil filter housing and are common for breaking down and peeing oil out of top of them they are the bits with wires coming out of them try disconnecting them and checking the rubbers that surround the wire connectors if there is oil in them this is your problem.
