  1. Crank sensor on its way out? You really need to get it on vag-com/vw diagmostics if you can't find the problem, having searched for other possible causes.
  2. check your fuel pump relay, make sure it is seated properly.
  3. Read this mate: http://www.venommotorsports.com/library/SchrickVGI268.asp Gives details of wiring etc.
  4. Talk to kilokilla on the forum. He can do it for a very competitive price.
  5. The answers yes. All vrs use the same coilpack. All pre-94 vrs used a distributor.
  6. About £125 from gsf or £200 from vw the last time I checked.
  7. That is the tool for removing the spark plug leads not the actual plugs.
  8. A German guy on the Corrado forum sells the obd1-obd2 adapters too. His username is GERMANCUSTOMS

    10.6 mpg

I've seen 152 deg. oil temp on the ring and my car consistently ran over 130. An oil cooler is certainly the way to go if you do a lot of track days. I found water wetter helped a lot too.
  10. Mafs are quite a delicate esp. the hotwire mafs so don't use anything abrasive. I'd use some electrical contact cleaner and a cotton bud.
  11. Have you got a spare maf to swap or you could swap back to the standard chip and see if that works. If you know someone with vag-com they could tell you the lambda readings with the engine running then you could swap parts to try and work out why its overfueling.
  12. What chip are you running? The giac chips which are supplyed with the kit are well known for massive overfueling. Or the maf could be on its way out causing it to run too rich.
  13. The Fidanza flywheel is £370 in UK but only £200 from America. I bought mine off gripforce-clutches(US) on www.ebaymotors.com If you want something not quite so light Autotech do a 10 lb flywheel: http://www.fourseasontuning.com/?category=4 Alternatively you can get your standard flywheel (18 lbs)lightened for under £100
  14. I've got a fidanza 6.5lb flywheel on mine. Definitely revs faster and improves the pickup at low revs.
  15. The injectors are timed slighty differently on obd2 and the ecu must be better at trimming fuel.
  16. I've done about 35,000 supercharger miles (90,000-126,000) without any engine/gearbox issues. It is a reliable option as long as the engine is in good condition.
  17. I think awesomegti sells the thermostat. Ultimate cooling mods are: neuspeed thermostat, low temp fan switch, mocal 13/19 row oil cooler and water wetter in your coolant. Good oil and the correct coolant mix help too. Also give the radiator a good flush out!
  18. Could the noise you are hearing be air blowing through the joint? That can sound like pinking.
  19. I'd just use a standard k@n cone filter neck id 80mm and about 7x4". Driveability is fine unless you change the injectors for larger capacity ones then it won't be driveable without a remap. Vince@Stealth will sort you out with one of his mafless remaps
  20. H@Rs are great. More supple than eibachs so you get good ride quality and great body control/handling. Eibachs are harsh!
  21. I had them fitted after I had the charger on. The idle is not bad (never been brilliant on a 2.9 anyway!) but not quite as good as with standard cams but worth it for the extra midrange grunt. They have longer duration than stock cams so are good for peak power too. Bear in mind, schrick 248s are meant for for Forced Induction cars so not sure if they would benefit an n/a car. 268s are supposed to be great in combination with a vsr or schrick vgi as they take over forn the vsr/vgi when it switches at 4000 rpm. Again, the idle particularly when the engine is hot won't be as good as stock.
  22. Yeah Corrados are 0bd 1 alright but adapter plates can be bought for about £50 which converts the obd1 manifold to obd2.
  23. You can put the vacuum pipe into one of the nipples on the brake booster or you can t-off the fuel pressure regulator. Block the pipe on the s/c intake where the breather runs too and run a new pipe into a catchcan or downwards towards the rear subframe. Alternatively you can leave the breather as it is and put a catchcan inbetween.
