  1. Hi, We put a new lambda in when we put the s/c in, so fairly sure its not that Yup, it's a GIAC Damn - I've got my old Dastek Unichip, would they be able to program that to run the s/c? Cheers for the help Craig
  2. Hi guys'n'gals Hoping for a flash of inspiration here - my VR6 has just failed it's MOT due to a massive emissions spike at the 2500-3000rpm mark... It's a '96 Supercharged (NS Racing/Raj did the work) that has been running fine to date. At idle, the lambda and emissions all seems okay. Move the rpm up to 2500+ and the CO goes from under .2 to about 10! Insta fail basically. Lamba values change, so that would seem to be working okay. Now I noticed a small oil leak out of the s/c that was dripping down onto the air filter (terrible placement for the thing, directly under the s/c) so I've tighte

    Armrests?

Hi, Anyone know if there was an OE centre armrest (you know, between the driver and passenger chair above the handbrake) on the Mk3? Anyone know if there's anything aftermarket I can fit? I got a Mk4 armrest, but the brackets wrong (surprise) and I can't find anyone that'd be prepared to have a go at making one for me... Reason for wanting one is that I broke my left collar bone by foolishly colliding it with tarmac while attempting an impromtu re-styling of my motorbike... Cheers, Craig
  4. Hi, Having exactly this same problem myself - but this morning, after about 5 minutes of trying still wouldn't start. Normally sorts itself out after a little while, but it's getting annoying now. Any help appreciated.
  5. Hiya, YES PLEASE! Really been having trouble finding someone that either sounds like they know what they're going to be doing to my pride and joy or someone who doesn't sound like they're ripping me off... What're you having done? Craig
  6. Heh - yeah, it's an experience... Make sure you've got a mate nearby to help with the persuasion and pass things...
  7. It was the B&M one - for the post '96 VR6 (I think it's a different one for the earlier model). Which VR6 do you have? C
  8. Hi, Got myself the short shifter for the VR6 from Demon Tweeks and fitted it this weekend, just thought I'd share a few "learnings"... Firstly - they say it'll take an hour. They lie like a cheap watch! It may be that good for the Mk4 golf or the Beetle that the kit also fits, but certainly isn't for our Mk3s... Removing the centre console - what a pain in the proverbial, but has to be done. Easiest way to get the pivot pin/bolt out is to remove the two bolts holding the gear lever housing up and drop it down into the transmission well - it's still a mission, but it can be done with some persu
  9. Can't recommend this guy enough - fitted me in for a late appointment when my aircon stopped working ahead of my long drive to Cornwall this weekend. Was supposed to turn up at 6pm but ran late, was still prepared to come around and arrived at 7pm - stayed until gone 10pm sorting out a problem where my compressor didn't want to start (We think it was a sticky pressure switch). Very friendly, knew exactly what he was doing, all the tools/toys and a "proper job" as we say here in the west country His name is George Gergiou and he can be reached on 01454 887 633 or 0773 99 88 555. Gives a 3 mont
  10. Very similar experience with a short-shifter - AVOID
  11. Hi, Can anyone recommend a good body shop or styling place in or near Bristol? My VR6 has a lot of small dents, scratches, etc which make it look rather tatty, so would kind of like to get it sorted Either want to get dents removed and paint touched up or dents and complete re-spray... I've seen the Chips Away is not recommended, and I have to say from having phoned them I can see why... Thanks in advance, Craig
