  1. Watch out for Passats. Got hammered by one on Tuesday. as if went past I saw 'W8' on the boot, got to the office and looked up the W8 on the interweb - fook - no wonder i got spanked.
  2. I need a new rack as well - getting a clunk noise and heavy steering to the right. Ive been quoted
  3. I got this when changing the coolant on mine - it was just an air lock. One thing to remember - to get the hot water running thru all your system (inc the heater matrix) be sure to have your heater temperature dial set to HOT. I got the air out by leaving the cap off the exp tank and running till fans came on, whilst 'burping' the pipes by squeezing them, including the 2 that go into the heater matrix.
  4. just got a recorded 36mpg from a 100 mile journey on the m6! Was driving like an asthmatic grandad though. I average about 27-28mpg over a month.
  5. Clicky..... [link]http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1689428,00.html
  6. Warren - just looked at the sub - the rubber around the cone is torn for 3/4 of the circumference. Looks like there wasnt enough clearance between the cone and the grill which i put over the top which was causing the rubber to crease when the cone moved out, rather than letting it move freely in and out. So, all my doing and not a dodgy sub
  7. My JL Audio 10w0 has started to fart like a trooper. How long do subs last? Ive been powering it with a bridged Alpine MRVT407 which is not over powering the sub at all. Do subs only have a certain shelf life? This is my first sub, so wouldn't know. I listen to it relatively loud, but not so the amp clips or sub distorts.
  8. I'd be out of my depth if i answer this one im afraid, as i had all the work carried out on mine by a mechanic. Im sure someone will be along in a bit to give you the 'ins and outs' of it all.
  9. Yes it can. I've done it in mine - 2.9 corrado block but with my original coil pack instead of the dizzy. IIRC you just need to use your (coilpack) wiring loom etc... I also kept the maifold and throttle body from my 2.8.
  10. A quick 'Google' bought these up. Are these them? Found them on this page http://www.audiworld.com/news/01/geneva/content3.shtml Seems like they are called Duo I wheels from the text on the above link.
  11. Whats a ZX12? Does it look anything like this?
  12. Easier to turn one way than the other....I have the same problem, and a 'click' from the steering wheel - ive been told by 2 places the steering rack needs replacing - not cheap, so i'm just living with it. Hope its not the same on yours and it is jsut the geomerty of your set up.
  13. Get your coat - thats awful!
  14. I sometimes have problems with getting it into first - a bit stiff. I had the gearbox oil changed and it seems to have sorted it out, but this may have been a coincidence. I found that a combination of cold weather (and therfore cold oil inthe box) made it worse.
  15. People on here rave about the BMC CDA induction kit. Ive got one and like it, but have nothing to compare it with. Cost about
  16. Ive got Dunlop Sport SP2000 (?) - very impressed with the grip, but then again anything would be better than the last set i had (Hankook Ventus - steer clear - had a puncture, and thats all they had at the tyre place)
  17. ......bit of a cynic are we?!
  18. For most of your 'normal' bits go to www.gsfcarparts.com or www.eurocarparts.com
  19. That looks really nice - nice and clean. I'd colour code the door handles shiny black as well if i were you and loose the mud flaps - just an opinion!
