12V switch from head unit - On the back of your head unit there should be a thin blue wire which isn't connected to anything coming out of the harness. If you're lucky it will be labelled. You need to connect this blue wire to the amp - there should be a terminal on your amp for it. The terminal is normally located next to the earth and power terminals. It basically turns your amp on when you turn your headunit on, and off again when you turn your head unit off.
Does anyone work near the O2 call centre? If you do can you look thru the window to see if they do actually employ monkeys. GRRRRR (dont ask) Sorry, i'll try and make my post vaugley VW related......whats the difference between a highline and a normal VR6?? x) .......I'll get my coat.
i was thinking about using these and a bit of wire. Don't know what sort of ampage the lights run on so they might not be able to take it. Also will need to waterproof the connections on the loom to stop them rusting internally. Just need to get my arse to maplins to see if they will fit. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1071&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=3&doy=16m2 http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1070&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=3&doy=16m2
Had the same problem with mine. The indicators and fogs i bought 2nd hand have the square connector but the cars loom has an oval connector. I still haven't fitted them. What reg is your car? i was told that VW may have started to use Mk4 connectors on late Mk3's. Mine was registered Dec 1997 R-plate. Dont cut the loom on your car - you'll only regret it. Try going to a breakers and seeing if any of the lights on the Mk4 / other VAG have the oval conenctor.
I put mine through a grommet located next to the pollen filter. i took the glove box out, and like binliner said, it managed to make its way into the passenger footwell by its self.
Check that your starter motor still has a good earth (braided strap can be seen from above). Mine was there but making poor connection = tried to fire, but couldn't.
I need mine refilling, shame you're in London - i know you said good rates, but the rate my VR drinks petrol it'd have to be free by the time i got to london. Welldone anyways
Mine has started to whine when taking my foot off the accelerator in 1st and 2nd. Is this normal? or terminal? I can't bear to spend anymore cash on it in teh coming months.
Was that the one with a tiny Golf racing a beetle up some playing cards? Or am I just making that up? I think it was to show-off the torque of the car.
Bit of background on the Polo 'Ad'. Good to know that VW have nothing to do with it IMO. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,6903,1396579,00.html
