  1. I heard that the vectra was actually doing 138, as the camera was not calibrated, but then again I may be talking out my arse. 140 indicated on M45 (ace m'way, onlyl aboy 12 miles long, no cars, no police)
  2. My drivers side electric window does the following 95% of the time: I go to close it, it automatically goes up, then about 3inches from the top it starts going back down again. It goes up exactly the same amount before it goes back down, and it comes to rest at the same place. Took the door card off, but couldnt find anything obvious. Any ideas?
  3. Further to my other post - they declined to quote me in the end. They were ok about the induction kit, but the corrado block was a no-no. I explained that it was juut the block, but they draw the line at non-standard engines.
  4. i found that i had air left in the system for about a week. To get rid of the last bit i drove the car with the cap ON. Then with the engine hot-ish un-did the exp tank cap (not all the way, just enough so that it hisses). You may find that the coolant level actually goes up, but if you leave it to cool totally with cap off it'll go down. Then just top up.
  5. You cant see the matrix - its between the bulkhead and dash. Two pipes in question on attached pic. Make sure your heater is set to MAX though.
  6. There should be two white plastic knobs on the back of the light, turn them to adj up or down. There should be one knob for main beam and one for side light. All this is from memory by the way. I had MOT bloke adjust mine - he charged 1/4 hours labour.
  7. I changes my coolant a while ago. Had the same problem with gurgling aux water pump. I had air trapped in heater matrix. Turn the heater to hot, does it blow hot air? or is it just warm. Mine was warm - got rid of air by squeezing the two pipes which run thru the bulkhead into the matix with the engine on, and cap off and the rad fan on. Obviously be carefull not to get clothing etc.. caught in the rad fan while you're bending over.
  8. As above, check you starter. i had a similar prob. i though it was the immobilier at first. Turned out to be a corroded earth strap on the starter. It looked OK to the eye, but just didnt have enough 'metal' in it to be a good conductor.
  9. I would say you'd need a sub. Ive got MB Quarts at the front (
  10. Cheers for this Drewvr6 - just saved a bunch of cash. Just got a quote from them today-
  11. Didnt think of that. I'll have to check out the power they kick out for the sub.
  12. You dont know my postcode! Greenlight took one look at it and said "we dont cover that postcode". Apparently i went from a 23 to a 97 on a scale of 1 to 100 when i moved house from Leamington Spa towhere I am now(according to direct line)!
  13. Just for info really Got my renewal thru via Adrain Flux -
  14. Cheers for the ebaylink. I've seen that, but it says it s for a 5 door only. Ive got a 3 door. I never knew there was a difference but looking at the autoacoustics website they list the 3 and 5 door seperatly.
  15. Ive decided to TRY and make my own stealth type sub enclosure. I say TRY as ive never used fibreglass before, so it'll be a bit of a learning curve. If i mess it up it'll be a call to autoacoustics to get one ready made - but you dont know till you've tried right? Any tips on using fibreglass? ?! Not sure when i'll get the time, but once its done, and only if im not too embarassed with it, i'll post a 'how to' type thing up here.
  16. fixed. Pete' date=' still cant get my sig to work. it just comes up with the [img'] xxxxxx link instead of showing the picture. Oh, and pound signs and forward square bracket signs dont work - it comes up with strange code, see above before the IMG for example. Cheers
  17. fixed. Pete' date=' still cant get my sig to work. it just comes up with the [img'] xxxxxx link instead of showing the picture.
  18. I need my boot back, so am going to get a stealth box for my Sub. Problem is that I have 2 amps. One to run front components and another for the sub. I want to build the amps into the space behind the drivers side wheel arch. At the mo they are on the floor in a DIY box thing I made. Thing is the amps are too big to both fit nicely. Front components running off a bridged 4-ch Alpine V12 jobbie (or something) which I really like so am keeping. I'm running the sub (JL W0 10") off a bridged Infinity RA7502 providing (apparently) 220W @14.5V. I need to get rid of this as its too big. Anyone kn
  19. Arn't the ones which detect via radar going to become illegal? I looked at the Inforad (see http://www.gpsinforad.co.uk) £80 which inc 12 months updating. But it only holds info in fixed cameras. But you can add your own places to the database.
  20. I need a new fob for my Autowatuch 160(?) as i only have one and am always worrying that i'll loose it. I have been quoted £40 + P&P - is this a fair price for a new fob?
  21. There was a group buy on samcos a week or so ago. Check the thread in the group buy section for names of companies and costs. As ACF said the samcos are cheaper than buying a set from VW (just forked out £70 for ONE VW hose the other week as i needed the car and couldn't wait 4 weeks for samcos)
  22. Its the name of the dealer it was bought from origninaly & has dealer sticker in back window. Kinda stuck.
  23. Finally got my solitudes refurbed and put on. Well happy with the quality of the finish & the color of them is more or less the same as the car. And,yes, i know it still needs to sit a little closer to the ground. [ Edited ] [ Edited ]
