I had the collector made by Race-Tech Sheffield mate. Back on track! Race-Tech called me and advised i needed 2 new cv boots, oil return and new exhaust gasket, it will then be mapped and ready for collection.1 point -

Snapped rear springs... Common fault. They tend to corrode & snap at the base of the spring!1 point -

2 hours done today, best leave it the weekend or the wife will be getting grumpy Wheels off onto 4 axle stands and had a go at the arches on passenger side, all metal bits wire wooled down to remove the protruding rust ready for some hammerite treatment. Pressure washed down then coated in gunk, brushed to a froth then pressure washed again. before i started and after not too bad, bit left to do with the hammerite and do something with the struts.....any suggestions? The arches will be left as they are will look into some sort of protective coating for them i thin1 point -

Cheers guys it's 3" down to 2.5" on the exhaust and I'm hoping for 400bhp and as for the gearbox I'm already planning on replacing the gearbox and engine with a forged bottom end etc and a rebuild box with LSD this is a for now setup ;-)1 point

Yes aslong as you use all the ancillaries from the Golf. Like I said in another of your threads you need to swap the upper timing chain cover from the Golf engine to the corrado one. It just unbolts. I don't know if you have a full corrado engine or not if you have you need strip everything off it so you've just got a bare engine like mine then swap it all over. If it was mine for piece of mind I'd probably do the head gasket while it's out of the car then at least you know it's all fine Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk1 point

Hello all! I'm after a bit of advice regarding a recently purchased MK3 VR. I bought it off Raj at NS Racing. It's an OBD2 96 model with stage 3 VF9 charger and racelogic T/C (if that makes any odds) Running maf-less map from Vince. It ran ok when I bought it but has recently started behaving odd. Sometimes when I start the car it runs very very rich, and chucks out black smoke, and when the throttle is pressed it just cuts out altogether and is difficault to start again. When it runs ok, it behaves weird on the road too. On full throttle the power seems on then off then on again if that makes1 point

This is awesome. Can't wait for it to be up & running properly. What power you hoping for when it's all set up? Also what exhaust are you running?1 point

Running a short runner on a turbo setup reduces pipe work and as it's kept shorter it reduces lag so improves turbo spool , creates more room Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
