  3. In between the rain, hail thunder and bits of sunshine today I've got the engine bay cleaned up a bit so it matches the rest of the car! Got rid of some of the cavity wax on the chassis legs, horrid stuff! Here's a before and after of the inner wing; Even cleaned and polished the inside of the bonnet; Did it by getting a bit brave with the jet wash, some thinners on the cavity wax, finished off with a bit of engine laquer, so now it's a bit closer to the finish of the rest of the car; The car got a bit wet for the first time much to my annoyance! But got a lovely bit of beading; Sent from my i

    Petrol in oil

well over fueling will more than likely cause bore wash .. as said contaminated oil is useless as it cannot do the job it needs too.. personally id put it back how it was hen it was working fine ... as changed the oil ASAP and run a stabilizer like the Lucas products ... hope for the best .. why did u run the recirc without it being plumed back in the other side ive gotta ask >?

  9. this is the main thing.. people don't realise what a huge difference tyres and fuel makes. They have drag tyres in most tyre shops out there. I used some 76 high octane fuel in an old 1.9 gti Engineering mk2 years ago when we had that fuel shortage crap, MY GOD what a different car !!! and I was mixing it as well.. Stick some street legal drag tyres on a car here and some high octane fuel and see the times fall..

    How far do you go?

I appreciate what you're saying lukey. I think it's one of those hurdles you shit yourself about jumping but once you've jumped and you're on the other side it'd make you wonder what all the fuss was about in the first place. I fully expect to repaint mine at some stage, just not quite yet. It would be one of those OCD things that her indoors will bollock me for big time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I have heard of MAF sensors being affected afterwards but as Lukey said I think that's from over-oiling. I also saw somewhere that people "pre-suck" (technical term) them with a vacuum!

    How far do you go?

Thing is you could get hit in any car you drive, weather it's a 500 run around or a tasty rs4. Sourcing a door (sounds like daveyboy, already has and sorting out the few patches your self sounds like the option I would choose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. The automatic gearbox has its own ecu for learning the way you drive think its under the rear seat but not 100% sure. You will need pedals clutch master etc. Not heard of anybody actually doing it but a few people have asked. If it were me I would swap the loom from a manual into it but that's obviously quite a lot of work unless you were doing a respray at the same time, unless your shell is 100% I would think of selling and buying a manual

  19. It simply will not work, to run constant 4wd the car MUST run 3 differentials; the middle of which must be the driven on.Your plan only consists of 2; and introducing a third is impossible. Also the BMW and VAG ratios are different. This will snap the propshaft

Very similar to mine, but with GT30 instead of GT35 and Emerald management instead of DTA. He'd be into the 11s easily if his high boost settting could be put down to the tarmac!
