  1. Ok after much searching I cant find the answer so here we go. I received some JOM bonnet lifters which are fine, however the screws that are supposed to replace the 3rd screw in the wing have a different thread. In other words the wing screws have a course self tapping thread and the JOM screws have a fine metric type thread.....any ideas people.
  2. Just made me look like I had friends.....:-)
  3. OMG how can you not have The Jam on that list.....Town called Malice/Going Underground/Down in the Tube Station at Midnight...just for starters....Guaranteed to take the tiredness away!!!
  4. Get a full wheel alignment done, not just tracking. This will sort the camber angle out as well. Google camber angle if you get time it will explain all, basically if one of your angles is out less tyre is in contact with the road and can cause the turning motion.
  5. Your suspension needs to 'settle' before you do any final adjustments. In my opinion and from past experience set the coilovers on the front to the same height prior to fitting. Same for the rear, then after a day or so check the heights of them all. The weight of your car needs to act on the coilovers to get it to settle to the right height.
  6. Credit where its due - many thanks for a straight forward sale mate. Gear knob/gaiter looks great pleasure to deal with.
  7. Mine does not go over 70 either, fans cut in fine coolant level is fine. If your fans are cutting in then I cannot understand why you are worried?
  8. The car may look Chav but your daughter didnt mind last night! German version of British Bulldog never caught on. Awww look at the cute floppy spotlamps......sooo cuuute! Setting fire to your car to warn others of the speed camera car around the corner was going a bit far me thinks! 'Guys are you sure this is what doggin is all about...Fog lights on means i'm available?'
  9. Plenty of other places give Govt Discount flash your MOD 90 around mate or just ask you will be surprised. Everywhere from Krispe Kreme donuts to hotels give good discounts. Ask your car hire company as welll am sure all of them do huge Govt Discounts. Oh and if you go to Seaworld be prepared to stand up when they ask for any Forces personnel just so all the civvies can whoop and holla!! Dont forget theres a £340 limit on good brought back from America so stash your Dub goodies well lol
  10. If its leaking inside the gaiter then the seal in the rack housing has gone. The gaiter is then just collecting the fluid.
  11. Check the steering rack gaiter. If its leaking from there it needs a new rack.
  12. May be worth looking into how he carried out the tes. As a qualified noise assessor I would be interested to know where he placed the sound meter. Noise has to be calculated at ear level or at a moderate level to take into account height variations in the human. Sticking the noise meter near the exhaust is pointless!
  13. There is no such thing as too low for wheel alignment, you just need to find a garage able to do it correctly. Look for one with a drive on floor level lift, that way it negates any ramping and smashing of front splitters etc. As for not enough adjustment left - he needs to lift the weight of the car off the suspension and move it then resettle it down. Mine was exactly the same last weekend and the guy at Protyre explained what he had to do, also telling me its a simple mistake made by other garages. Hope you get it sorted soon.
  14. Can someone post a pic of an original gear knob and gaiter for an OBD2 VR6 please? Mine has an horrendous chrome 'golf ball' and black and blue gaiter. Also if anyone has an original for sale PM me.
  15. OBD = On Board Diagnostics
  16. Absolute bo**ox in response to it reducing your airflow temperature by that amount considering the amount of airflow passing thru compared to the surface area of the gasket.
  17. Perils.... I bought mine a few months ago and after doing the usual checks made a punt to the guy and got a great bargain. Alas a few weeks later the steering rack was leaking like a sieve so that had to be changed and has to be the worst job I have ever done on any car. I also found out the guy had bent all the jacking point lips (easy fix tho). Finding a VR is easy, finding the right one you for the right money isn't so easy. With any car you take a gamble but parts for VR's are readily available should something go wrong
  18. I put JOM's on my cabrio last year, very very hard ride unless your only dropping it a small amount. That said they are a budget coilover, if you go for them make Racedynamics an offer as I got mine for £160. Otherwise look around, save up and wait a while.....its dark 60% of the day now anyway lol
  19. Some before and after pics as I've now started to make my own mark on her. First up was a front end lights change Before After Added the grill and front clear indicators and fogs. Grill will be painted soon. After a day spent changing a leaking steering rack I decided to try the Jamex suspension I got with the car, unfortunately the 60mm springs slammed it onto the Santa Monica's. Looking for some 40mm at the moment, quick clean today and I am liking the new wheels apart from the 4x4 look 8-)
  20. My new grill should arrive in the next few days, may spray it myself but if anyone can do it cheap let me know. Looking for mystic blue trim with the 2 upper slats black. Cheers.
  21. russj249 the digital rev counter is number 7 on mine just for info if Bodge in case yours is the same.
