  1. OK last minute dot com but got a couple of spaces available on the RR day tomorrow £35 if your interested PM me. Will be starting around 9.30am up to now we have around 7 cars but it was originally booked for 10.
  2. 1st one could be coil related breaking down when hot.
  3. TBH I don;t think its the frequency of the mirrored posts I think its the fact that not many people post often enough on the FB page so the forum posts stack up....so people get posting on the FB page lol
  4. Don't know the exact details but I suppose once someone gets bad service they don't go back. Ive only heard good things about JKM but its her choice.
  5. I emailed him with some genuine questions about amount of owners tax/mot etc this is his reply.....please contact by mobile supplied by piston heads !! due to fraud emails....WTF? He had time to reply but couldnt answer genuine questions.....I can see the bull and can smell the sh*t from here!
  6. She has had bad dealings with JKM in the past so wont go there....will investigate the guy behind the Ford garage cheers.
  7. Why is the front badge red if its 'genuine'? Also am I right in thinking this should have the smaller splitter on the front?
  8. OK not VR related but my mate has a BOLF...yes a BOLF lol and the ABS light is on yet the sensors are working and all give the same reading from each wheel via VAGCOM. So she is looking for a good but in expensive VAG specialist in/around Pompey who can diagnose her fault without costing the earth. Its a MK4 X reg (2000).
  9. These forum posts on the Facebook page are effing annoying as hell, the Facebook page is sadly becoming a mirror forum can we stop the amount of posts on it please? Out of the 30 or so posts on there at the moment only 3 are not mirrored in the forum.
  10. Stood up looks like a wedge from one side? If so thats due to the camber it wears the tyre unevenly and you will need to change your tyre if ....The legal limit for minimum depth of the tread on your tyres is 1.6 millimetres, across the central ¾ of the tread around the complete circumference of the tyre.
  11. Always one to say thank you where it's due and a huge thanks to VR Stig for collecting my smoothed tailgate on his travels. Not everyone would collect something for a complete stranger let alone go out of the way to do it. Cheers mate.
  12. I get people asking 'Aren't you a bit old for a boy racer car' ...usually from the 30+'s who end up in my rear view mirror or jealous as they are driving the family around in a blah blah wagon!
  13. http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/flywheel/how_a_lightweight_flywheel_works.htm http://www.physicsforums.com/archive/index.php/t-152706.html A few starters for ten from Bamber!! If you don't know who Bamber is ask your dad lol
  14. Sounds like a wheel bearing...if you trundle down to Fareham I can take a listen if you want.
  15. As per Sharky's comment, you can do a test by pressing in the top of the cap if I recall. Failing that check the wiring to the brake pad wear indicators.
  16. As the titel says I need a smoothed tailgate collecting from Swindon on Wednesday of anyone is passing en-route to the south....Portsmouth or Southampton to save me a trip.....petrol money will be donated for the hassle. Let me know if your passing that way.
  17. The guy at the local locksmiths took my transponder out for me as he had done a few before.....worth asking one if you know any.....not the guy at your local Timpsons tho lol!!
  18. You need to cut around it mate carefully as it will be glued in, some come out easy others are a pain in the arse. Basically trial and error but dont cut the transponder at all it is made from carbon and will break.....if it does your f***ed!! Once out drop it into the new key. Whats wrong with the key anyway as it looks fine??
  19. Yes but you need a transponder in each key you use you cant use a key without the transponder in it. There is a work around which involves having the transponder fitted somewhere inside the steering column but its a risky option.
  20. Personally I would not chop anything off until a full laser alignment check had been carried out with a print out showing exact angles. Search the internet for somewhere like ProTyre let's face it even if you have to drive a few mile for peace of mind its cheaper than 2 tyres and new steering rod ends.
  21. Am away now so no pix, cant see any plastic nub and the original wing screw is a self tapper.
  22. The problem is that the JOM screws do not screw into the wing holes as they are two different thread types. The bonnet bolts are fine.
