  1. Be realistic it is far too good to scrap, whether or not you get the work done or not get it MOT'd and if you feel the need sell it on to someone who will give her a new lease of life.
  2. I fitted the JOM coilovers to the Mk 3.5 Cabro I had earlier this year, a very good set of coilovers for the money. Easy to fit and adjust give a good firm ride as I had them pretty low. No real downside apart from the crappy C spanner they give you. They are TUV approved which is the Germans quality/safety test. Best price I saw was on Ebay. The mk3 kit fits all models inc cabrio and VR6.
  3. Seals have gone mate, moved the drivers side boot today to check and it flooded the floor lol,
  4. Cheers Gav, have ordered a 2nd hand one with a warranty and have a lift at work so can get under it ok. Hoping to get it done ASAP as its driving me nuts lol...squirting green cack all over the place.
  5. Is there a how too on replacing the steering rack? My seals have gone and I have 'Mountain Dew' pi**ing out everywhere...!!
  6. If you dont get the correct angles on your DIY strut brace you will either snap your newly made brace or even worse rip your bodywork apart. Don't do it....buy one!!
  7. Fuel capacity is 55 litres which is around 12 gallon. Average mpg v distance on a tank. 20mpg = 240 miles 25mpg = 300 miles 30mpg = 360 miles 35mpg = 420 miles
  8. Thats not the same Climate Control Unit.
  9. Also make sure the passenger seat has 'clicked' into place when its been moved forward or backwards.
  10. Make sure you get it on VagCom first, pointless gassing it up if the codes come up with a different problem. Also make sure the fault codes are cleared then run the car as it is with the fault and see what code it comes up with, old codes may still be logged and you dont want to be chasing a fault that isn't there.
  11. Yeah its a fault that needs reading by VAGCOM mine is the same.....could be that if it has no gas in it for the aircon.
  12. If your worried about MPG then don't buy one......if your not worried about MPG drive it like it's stolen
  13. Looking for a cheap place around Portsmouth to refurb the alloys on my VR6, they are the standard ones in the pic.
  14. Al sorted...welded up by a mate and with a new clip form VW, to say it was a balls ache to refit was an understatement and that was with all the advice from various forums lol. All done tho and blasting along again.
  15. Was at the ring last week....awesome. Just be aware the weather was starting to get chilly on the evenings and on one occasion the ring was closed for fog and rain at 4pm!!
  16. VW wanted £55 for a pedal I called them this morning grrrrrrrrr
  17. Am sure this has happened to many before see the pics The end of the housing is usually only tacked on and has snapped off completely, seems newer pedals where modified and made stronger. Welding to be done later today and refitted with new clip etc. Luckily I was only a few miles from home and not on a motorway etc.
  18. Oh and I picked them up in person from Andover, I did a best offer on ebay and got £20 off.
  19. I bought these for a previos Mk3.5 cabrio and they where great no problems with them at all, for the price I suspect most of these will be the same.
