  1. On the end of the barrel there is a switch held in by a couple of screws this is the ignition switch. It has a female part in which the male part of the barrel pushes into then when you turn the key this turns the switch. Now the barrel is only what looks like die-cast ally and is fragile really. This may have broke.
  2. I'm afraid I'll have to agree with you. When I had my mk2 vr6 it wa stripped out and felt silly quick infact almost brutal but I have jut got a standard mk3 and it's so lazy. Well it feels it I'm not sure if it's because of all the soundproofing and the extra weight of the mk3 but the mk2s are quicker.
  3. I know this is sad bit just had a count of a picture and approx 46 I'll re count and check.
  4. Fronts are in with one bolt, then the backs the same but unplugs from under the rear seats. Really simple to get too. And Craggsy that module seems to be fine it said rear right so I swapped plugs over and it moved to rear left. New ones ordered.

  6. It could of been your ignition barrel after all this then. Mine went funny on my mk2. Turned over but wouldn't for then some days it would then use be stranded in a car park. Then changed it and all was fine.

  11. Get yourself a magnetic camber gauge, it's what I use and touch wood both times the alignment has been ok

  14. They are zero lip bbs magnesium centres if I remember but unsure of the actual name.

  18. I got an offer shortly after spring fest for the mk2 and I couldn't refuse it. I then got browsing and found this it's done 100k obd2 remote central locking. I'll get some pictures of the interior when I get time Plans are to keep it OE, fully poly bush it and uprate things as I go along. ABS was corroded round the plug so got hold of a module and plug (cheers craggsy and nice 32) Going to replace all sensors too There's a few bits of rust but two new wings will sort that may get side repeaters smoothed off and get a us spec front bumper and vento front. 312mm brakes as the wheels I have
  19. This is the thing Pete, I don't have the dash lights as I think they were removed because of the light being on due to the corroded wires. So I got the plug off craggsy and abs module anyone got vagcom from round Leicestershire area or willing to meet somewhere ?
  20. right ill give it a go in the morning again then if not ill change the motors over too if not then look at the wiring as theres: 2 thick red wires- presuming live feeds 2 thick brown wires - presuming there earths 2 thin grey and white wires and another colour has two so ill take a look into them but i cant seem to find a abs wiring diagram anywhere. if still no luck ill replace the ecu too
