  4. Yes I have since, found more forums that have taken me quite deep into various turbo builds. And a gt35 is the one for me or that size anyway. Another question, what ate these anti surge turbos? And do the holes actually work? And is it me getting confused or is it fact that waste gates are different to dump/blow off valves? Sorry for the questions I just want to make sure that before I go into this I know what I'm talking about and what everything does Thanks

  6. Well this is true, I suppose it needs rebuilding for a reason. And I don't intend finding out what that reason is. So I have decided I'm going to save some money then hopefully come winterish time, I'll be able to buy a large number of bits. Is a t04e a big enough turbo or Is it too big? I definitely want to go with a charge cooler set up, as they don't give the game away in rear view mirrors and help dramatically with boost and temperatures. So in my eyes there good enough reasons to either get a sp one or find a second hand one. Other charge coolers out there are the 1.8t ones I found one
  7. There's a guide tony made in the premium members section. Becareful of the top two bolts as they are different lengths and if put the wrong way will pierce the water jacket behind it.
  8. Exactly! Just looking at sp performance, and for what you get his pricing isn't that bad. Yet to look if they include shipping tax etc I'm guessing not. But it's certainly giving me an idea on what's going to cost what and how things work and fit together. Just unsure wether the T04e is a good turbo to go for obviously I want more than 300hp ideally I would like 350-400 as it will be a daily and Inthink I'll poo my pants lol.

  10. Yh I love the tidiness of the bay with a charge cooler and it has it's own benefits such as better cooling, quicker spool.
  11. Right there a turbo on eBay it's a T04E with ar .84 hotside and ar .60 coldside. It's in need of a rebuild. But nothing I'm not scared of doing or getting someone to do. My question is: Are those ars good as in reasonable spool ie not to quick as to break gearboxes but not laggy like a cosworth. What sort of power will this turbo produce? I think I'm going to slowly get parts together, and as I work at an engineering place should be able to make a few bits and bobs myself. Also anyone put a charge cooler in a mk3 bay? As I like the stealthiness, but is the added weight of a water tank wort
  12. I'll be keeping an eye on this. A throttle bodied vr, one of the worlds greatest noises. How come you didn't go for something like jenvey bodies? Was it purely cost or is there that much potential from bike bodies? Either way must have been hard to try this instead of a 24v turbo
  13. That £70 will have soon earnt it's self pride of place mate. It saved me time and effort with the abs and the misfire. Can it be any obd port from a mk3? Such as out of a gti? As I think the scrap yard near me has a mk3 gti in at the minute.
  14. I have that r32 on gran turismo and the gearing is very long. However that 0-60 time is more like half an hour when you win it. But sort the gearing out and it's quite quick to say the least.
  15. It's on the end of the key barrel held unplaced by two small screws. You'll have to remove the plastic covering the steering column. And it's a right pain to get to.
  16. Ahh ok didn't want you sitting there wondering why nothing was changing lol. My old obd1 engine used to start and cut out then start and be fine. That was something to do with the heated O2 sensor(lambda). May also sound strange but fairly cheap to try Is the ignition switch.
  17. Do a compression test, that way you'll know if it's across all of them (due to low comp pistons) or only one knackered . Did you change the gasket etc what bolts are in there?
  18. I too would like to know how it goes as my light comes on when it feels like it. And when I slam the brakes on in the wet it locks up whether the lights off or on.

  20. Right, has anyone got a decent pic of their mk3 on Porsche 928 wheels 7j fronts and 8j rears. And Porsche twists 17x 7.5 all round as I'm looking at getting some new wheels in a few months fingers crossed. Another question do 928s fit over 312mm brakes?

  22. Bloody el. Lol absolutely brill making me really do this to the mk3. Have you got a bentley manual for all the torque setting on the bolts? Are they braided fuel hoses? If so I like the look of those too.
