    Ok here's my contribution
Mk1 Caddy vr6 turbo with 4motion, this last season 2013 I was running 401bhp and 400ftlbs of torque.
My best time of the season was an 11.4 second but this next year I'm aiming for a 10second 1/4 so currently changing/upgrading pretty much all of the engine, cooling and turbo and pushing for 550-600bhp or basically as much as I can get!
Here's a nice vid from gti international of me racing a 6.3 AMG Merc on drag slicks, not my best time as it was about 32degrees!

Magnecore leads are crap, I spent 6 months searching for a misfire at  boost on my vrt it was only when the guy who does my mapping said change them as he has had quite a few cars in with problems due the leads so I changed my 6 month old magnecore leads for genuine and it cured it!
I would never ever buy them or recommend them and just use genuine ones now.

I think i will try some then. i had a set if drc 268's on my supercharged vr6 that were ok but i must have got a bad set and after trying 2 sets of genuine cam followers i could not stop them making a loud tappet noise as if it had solid followers in.

right been a while but started doing stuff on this again basically came to a standstill due to doing things on the new house, doing some work on my mk2 now that i have a garage and also making the mistake of telling the local lad who has been checking my box over and fitting the diff that i wasnt in a hurry due to moving into said house gave it to him in feb got it back last weekend!

but now its back im cracking on with it and intend on the car coming to the new house in oct (when my rent on the barn where it is now runs out) whether that be by its own steam or on a flatbed!

i finished my tig welding course and bought myself a welder but due to not having the box ive only been able to weld up the first 90 degree bend

i can continue with the rest once the box is back on and the engine is back on its mounts got a mate coming to help me fit the box tomorrow after work so hopefully things can start progressing again

i also made a start on fitting/refitting what i could to the engine before fitting the box, exhaust mani is on but due to its shape it needed some of the lower studs to be removed and chopped down also inlet is on but has required some fettling to fit, injector rail has also needed modding  and just some general bits refitted some of which took some head scratching as its about a year since i took it to bits!

oh and also fitted the walbro intank pump

Hi guys, not so long ago I brought my new project car, It's a 2002 V6 4motion with the BDE engine that I am currently turbocharging.

    The build consists of:

Engine2.8 V6 4motion engine code BDEStandard pistons and conrodsHead spacer ARP head studsARP connecting rod boltsStock inlet manifoldSachs 4 puck sintered clutch  FuelingStock fuel railStock fuel linesInline Walbro 255 fuel pump630cc injectors  Induction4” MAF housing Stock MAF sensor2.5” intercooler pipes450mmx227mmx65mm bar and plate intercooler Turbo/ExhaustGT35 turbo, .82 AR exhaust housingT3 cast exhaust manifold Tial 38mm wastegate 12psi spring3” downpipeFull 3” exhaust with one silencer  GaugesInnovate AFR gaugeInnovate Boost/RPM shift light gaugeInnovate Oil pressure and oil temp gauge I'm looking for approx 400+bhp, running up to around 15psi of boost which I think is very achievable and should keep it reliable for daily use So far I have installed the Sachs sintered clutch and uprated pressure plate, fitted the inline Walbro 225 fuel pump, fitted the intercooler and just finishing up the 3" exhaust. I also made a custom aluminium gauge holder to hold the three Innovate gauges in my dash. I've sent my ECU to The Phirm for the United Motorsports tune and they will be sending it back with head spacer, MAF housing and injectors. All the work including the exhaust has been and will be done by me      Here are a couple of other projects i've done, all welding and fabrication on these has also been done by myself Off road buggy, 900cc bike engine I turbocharged and converted to fuel injection 225bhp    Another off road buggy, hayabusa engine

What gearbox do you plan to run? I would imagine all that low down grunt will soon eat a standard box.

sleepymike got a reaction from paceo in dropping a corrado 2.9 coilpack engine into my dizzy golf vr6 - how do i remove this bolt? AHHHHHHH!
Take off the rocker cover and hold the cam steady with a set of adjustables or right size spanner where it's hex'ed on the actuall cam shaft. The bolt is a normal thread, lefty loosey righty tightey.
It will be tight and awkward to get by yourself as 1 one hand will be pushing the other will be pulling!
Not sure what the metal bit in the dizzy hole is, never seen it before. It's not of the brown bit on the bottom of the dizzy is it?
The pronged bit that's bolted to cam sprocket that the dizzy locates into is notched and only fits into the sprocket 1 way.
Edited with a picture of the possible metal clip that should be attached to the bottom of the dizzy.

I should have really made some videos tonight coz boy I haven't had this much fun in ages. Got the car back from the garage next door to me as they were fitting the brakes. I've got the TT wheels put on now wrapped in a fresh set of Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tyres. Got home and finished off the last couple of bits I had left on the wotbox. So now I have launch control .
Took it out for a little test and had it set at 3500 rpm. Felt good launching it but the wheels just spun and I didn't gain any traction in first gear so I might try and launch it around 3000 rpm next time. The other absolutely amazing thing is the ability to "no lift shift" as they call it. So you can basically change gear without having to let go of the throttle allowing you to continue boosting. You have got to be in the car to feel how good it is I will try and get some videos up in the next couple of days.
Next step is to get the methanol injection fitted.

Im running Omex management and launch control is an option but it's not proper launch control it's just an ignition cut. Maybe next year I will upgrade my management!
