  1. Its got to be over bays, sometimes diagonally so no1 can even try and park next to you. If people weren't so careless when opening their doors this wouldn't be needed. I don't park next to vans, 4x4s or cars with child seats (ive found those are the worst). I tend to park right at the back so its not in the way. But which really annoys me is, when you've parked soo far out (so no1 is next to you) to go back to your car and some1 is in the bay next to you. Out of all the spaces in the car park they chose that space, why? I'd wait for a better space than just park anywhere. Some people have no
  2. elastic band tyres Im a fan of stretch, but only when its needed. No point in stretching a tyre over a wheel that is a thinner wheel or if your tucking. Keep in mind when ordering tyres that some brands stretch differently. Ive found, yoko, falken, dunlop and toyo stretch really nice.
  3. Go to a scrap yard and bring me back a centre console (in black) and a front splitter haha Disney land?!
  4. Thoser mason tech guards are solid, so no need to raise it. If you've seen james fords mk3 you'll see how good they are! I really like the white 5door! I dony usually like 5doors, but that is smart! Quite like it with morettes, but you'll have to change the wheels to put your own stamp on it. But white on white is a win for me!
  5. The only pics I've got of my car together is before its gone into bodyshop. I doubt the wheels will be going on again before march (don't want to ruin pretty rare bbs 3pc wheels) But I can get spec lift up and pics of it in winter mode when its out of bodyshop if you want?
  6. Gives me good reason to go and buy new cleaning stuff If your inside then your car has to be there for the saturday?
  7. Where sells the BIG ram air filters? Was going to fab a heat shield like what you get with the neuspeed filters. Would it be just as effective as a bmc?
  8. I can't wait for UD! The show that kicks the start of the show season off. Hoping to get my mk3 indoors this year. When do the forms need sending off? Of your on clubstand do you still get judged for show and shine?
  9. Only thing that puts me off HIC is that they have an admin charge when you phone up to declare mods. I tried to get a quote on a standard 1.8 mk2 GL today and it was the same price as the mk3 VR! Insurance is messed up
  10. stretching tyres is for clearance and to keep things legal. Tyre tread is not allowed to protrude outside of the arch so when stretching tyres, the tread still stays covered leaving the tyre wall and the rim poking. It also allows for cars to go lower without having to tuck wheels inside the arches. Im a fan of stretch, but only when its needed. I dont see the point in big stretch if the wheels are tucked. Stretch on skinny wheels doesnt look good. (Love jap cars :-# project mabe....)
  11. Ive got standard 288 Vr brakes and running 17s atm but might step down to 16s over winter. Ive read quite a few topics about 16s clearing 312s, some will and some dont. So if I werre to stay 288s whats the best upgrade? On edition someone was selling brembo 4 pot calipers to fit a rado on standard discs. Where can I get these from? or something similar? What about porsche rear calipers etc....? Cheers.
  12. go for a 195/40 or a 205/40 on the back instead of a 225/35. Try and get falkens as they stretch really well nd have a smaller side wall. Im runing 195/40s on a 8J and maybe on a 9 if I get bigger barrels. Its all down to Offset. Porsche wheels generally have a high offset between 50-60. How are you wanting the wheels to sit? Im running ET20 and ET10 but my wheels are 8J.
  13. What's the offset of the wheels you got now? Got a pic to see how the wheels sit not? Guessing you want more poke? But how much more? Could always go for slightly smaller tyres than 235s. Different tyre brands stretch differently aswel.
  14. My mate took me out in his corrado VRT and I had to have a VR after that. Hoping to go turbo . The feel when boost kicked in was unreal. The noise it made was one of the best noises ever! I love how the mk3 sits with nose down stance so I wanted a mk3. Took me a few months of search the internet nearly every night. Phoned up a few people and went to see a few, but with some the descriptions on the add werent alway honest, so a lot of time was wasted. I only wanted a mulberry mk3 VR untilI saw a satin silver one. I had only seen 2 for sale when I was looking for a mk3 and I ended up buying 1 of
  15. 4300k are factory hids and are the brightest. 6k ones are like a white/ice colour and 8k ones are light blue. I went for 6k ones on my last car, weren't too blue and could see a lot further! Hids4u have a great kit but are kinda pricey. Byt you can google discount codes for them. But go for a plug and play kit so you don't have to do any extra wiring.
  16. 17x7 oz super turismos. Looks sweet. Sat pretty low. That's a shallow US splitter cos a vr would hit the floor too much haha.
  17. I didn't use high beam when I had hids cos they were bright enough. You can gets hids for high beam and don't take time to heat up but your talking big money and its not really worth it. Be careful with the high watt bulbs cos they have been known to melt plastic headlight lenses.
  18. My mate just got OZ superturismos and painted them white for his vento and it looks like a 90's touring car. Looks awesome!
  19. My mk3 is in my mates unit getting painted (HTG - Does awesome work!) Its getting full shot and I was going to keep satin silver. Its a very nice colour but it wasnt my first choice colour when looking for a mk3. So after talking to a few people down at the unit and looking at colour chips we've narrowed it down to a select few colours. Nothing OTT, wanted to keep the mk3 looking factory fresh but will have the old skool character. (I only want the colour change if the bay is getting painted, if its not its staying satin silver) Ive never actually changed the colour of the car, so what do I
  20. I was talking to a few friends about this again the other night and they were saying that if you get rid of the valve and just re-join it, all the crap will either get burnt off as it goes back round, or start to clog up the throttle body. So in theory having it just venting out is the better option. They right?
  21. I was wondering around edition have a little nosey around a few peoples engine bays and noticed alot of the VRs had the valve blocked off and had a long people coming out where the valve should be connected to. The pipe was ran round the back of the engine and pointing straight to the ground and not into a catch tank. Whats the pro and cons with this? The valve had broke on my VR so the garage fitted a temp catch tank. I can get one made with a 19mm inlet but its £50 then the price for the filter which goes on top. Thanks
  22. So what will the difference be in fitting a 268 compared to a 263?
  23. How will the feel of the car change? will it be better low down, mid range or top end? Im not really clued up on cams atm. Does the car need a remap after the cams are fitted? I want something thats going to help the VR pull better low down, it seems to have nothing below 3krpm.
