  1. We used to laugh at lolcats and failcats at uni in the library instead of doing work. Wasted soo much time haha.
  2. posi - My car is going in for its new wing and all arches rolled on thursday negi - I dont be getting my wider BBs dishes before edition so stance wont be as good. Gutted!
  3. Once every 2 weeks! Im there atleast twice a week. But I dont/cant fill up the tank.
  4. I only use shell. I got a shell card the other month and they sent me through a V power card with using it soo much
  5. Posi - all wheels are now stripped Negi - Oil pool under the car Sump and plug is grazed
  6. Just bumping an old thread. How much gap is normal? When I refitted the fronts I was sure they were flat and level. But now there's a gap.
  7. Sweet how did you make that? It helped reduce heat soak and kept inlet temps and manifold temps down?
  8. I'm in the same boat. I don't want to paying for dishes and adaptors if they aren't going to give the look I'm after cos they aren't cheap. So needs to be perfect first time round. It wouldn't be someone called mexican that your asking? He's helped me out loads.
  9. My vr will see high high 90s sometimes 100 oil temp on the motorway. I was lead to believe that was normal. What is everyone doing to keep inlet temps down? Inlei gets crazy hot and surely that can't be good.
  10. Posi - started splitting my new wheels which I'm hoping will be on thr car in time for edition Negi - the mk3 won't be painted in time for edition. 2nd negi - booked the car into the garage to get chains done. Mk3 VRs are expensive
  11. I would have thought less cos the wheels aren't as wide. Ill check when I'm on the computer for ya (on phone atm) I'm getting my arches rolled and going to be running 195/40 all round so should be fine. I did wanrt to run 9s but I've got to use adaptors so 9s aren't quite do-abke without arch flaring. But I don't want to loose the shape of the arches.
  12. 16x7 et32 is easily do-able. Id run 20mm up front and 25mm at the back when I get my wheels built back up ill be running 8J et20 and 8.5J et9
  13. How wide are the wheels? Voodoo motorsport are re-drilling wheels but they aint cheap. But if your wanting it done, I wouldnt be trying to cut any orners. If done properly they should be safe, but I'd try and see if adaptors will work first. I was thinking about getting my wheels redrilled to 5x100 from 5x120. Get the holes welded up and new stud pattern drilled, but its cheaper tp buy BMW adaptors (and they aint cheap). BUt if I got the re-drilled, it meant the wheels could go stupid wide.
  14. The garage quoted me 530 for non gen parts inc labour and 600 for gen parts.
  15. I don't think those are banded steels, but the others are right. Those jag wheels are for sale on edition.
  16. I cant wait for edition! Bit cheesed off that my car wont be painted in time though :@. So cant enter show and shine
  17. Phoned TPS These are the parts and prices I was told by the lad who works there. 2 chains - £42(each) main tensioner £30 guides - £49 for 4 guides) 1 sprocket £11.50 (All prices dont include VAT) Ill need oil but I can get synta silver from VW cheap enough Anything else?
  18. If it smokes on over run is it like to be problems with the head? Such as valve stem seals?
  19. So in parts alone from TPS it cost 1k? Got a list of parts you replaced?
  20. Do the OBD2 run a double chain like the early ones?
  21. Oil does get changed regularly. Last change was about 1k ago. For whats its going to cost for changes and maybe a head rebuilt, you can get a 4mo engine and maybe a mk4 R32. But im not sure if you cang et away with same VR loom etc.... Ive had the car for a few months now, it did have a few problems when I first bought it but the more its driven it seems to be getting better. I am planning on keeping the VR. Its going in for a full respray ready for edition. I would love to turbo it but thats alot of money and insurance would definately laugh at me. Ive been using genuine parts when Ive had
