Bump for lowness
-
Know the info on them? Quite like them!
-
i was told the inlets have to e 19mm due to pressure and to buy on1 with with inlets. 1 for the pipe to join from the engine and the other to take the fumes back to the intake. but I was talking to trix and viw28 at edition and they just had a really long pipe that just went straight to the ground due to it just being vapour.
-
Bit of confusion. Ive had the pucks and bolts sat in the house for ages however.... some peopel are saying I can just raise the front, but others are saying I need to raise all 3. what you reckon? eitherway I need the sump lifting up as is taking a beating.
-
Still cant find anywhere that sells a catch tank that has the inlets the right size. Ford sell the valve right? Any side effects with just running a longer pipe straight ot the ground?

OZ Superturismo or Ultraleggera?
VeedubVR replied to PhilippVR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Theu super Ts in the pic of cheap Fox wheels? My mate has super Ts on his vento and they look awesome. Painted white and it look like a 90s touring car. stance on it is awesome. Just say tucked in the arches. But he cant run a VR splitter cos it hits the ground when he brakes its that low -
Carpets are getting removed and cleaned ready for ud. Engine bay is getting cleaned and having a few things hidden and relocated just to make it look clean and tidy. Got a different engine cover aswel which is getting sprayed. However if I can pick up a things in the US the engine bay will be looking a trick but very oem! Found a few picks of the wheel build which ill upload when I've got the time. But the wheels could be getting build to different spces for UD!

I can get hold of a set of hella blacks. A guy nextdoor to my mates unit has some for sale if your interested?
-
I got normal bulbs in my hella reds and they are fine, but they have a green film in the light itself. If you use laminx or a tint spray then yes you need to change the bumb colour. What about hella blacks on a black car? The hella red/black/reds cost a fair bit now but do look good.

creamy crap on oil filler cap
VeedubVR replied to VeedubVR's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Parts expensive? The dipstick was clear when I checked ( well apart from oil). I'd only do something wrong if I attempted something like this myself. Shame you all are soo far south -

creamy crap on oil filler cap

Cheers mate. It just got me worried. Head gasket a big job on a vr? I spoke to someone and they said the cold weather can make it form aswel, that true? -
stretched tyres question
VeedubVR replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Either should be fine. But if you space out any further you might need smaller tyres. 195s are practically the norm on 7.5s now haha. -
creamy crap on oil filler cap
VeedubVR replied to VeedubVR's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Sometimes, have been this week. But mostly its 30miles each way to uni. I checked a few weeks ago and there was only a few spots on the cap after going to uni. But when it was warm, there was nothing. -
Checking oil levels and noticed there's creamy colour crap on the inside of the oil filler cap. Its only been there since the cold set in. it was never there when we had warmer temps. Could it just be the weather or something else? Head gasket? Thanks (hoping its nothing serious or expensive )

stretched tyres question
VeedubVR replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
If they are 17s then you could go for 205/40s for slight stretch. But if your wanting to space out a bit I'd go for 195s. Are your arches rolled? -
stretched tyres question
VeedubVR replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
How wide are your wheels? How do you want to to sit in the arch? If your tuking you don't needs as much. If your poking or fkush you'll need stretch. -
stretched tyres question
VeedubVR replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Pradas are excellent for grip, so maybe it was the tyre brand that affected the handling rather than the stretch. What tyres are on the lensos? (Typed that word with a shiver haha) lensos are onlyt a skinny wheel anyway. Only stretch when its needed otherwise it will look wrong and crap! -
stretched tyres question
VeedubVR replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I running 195s on an 8 and it handles great! But be aware that not all tyres strretch the same. The softer tyres such as toyo, dunlop and falken give much nice stretch. My mate ran what we called danger stretch on his wheels for ages with no problems and his give his lupo death everywhere (165/50 on a 8) Main garages won't touch stretch, probs cos they don't understand it. But as long as your sensible when driving it will be fine. Give the car stick just not in the corners as much. With stretch it stiffens up the side wall a little. If you look at F1 cars and some touring cars you might noti -
Its still to get a full detail. That's just flatted back and polished with G3 which is only a basic polish, then wax ontop. Silver is a hard colour to get depth from. I was in two minds whether to change the colour when it was in getting bodywork and new paint. But with not seeing many silver mk3s I decided to keep it. Had some other awesome colours picked out!

I told my self I wasnt going to do a build thread until the first show was over. But its just been eating me up not having a build thread somewhere. I bought the car after deciding I needed power and a 1.2 polo just wasnt cutting it and 20vT would cost too much! After goping out in my mates home build rado VR6T I just had to have a VR6, even if it was just for the noise. That thing was a rocket! I orig wasnt a mulberry mk3 but after seeing a satin silver come up for sale I just had to have a mk3 in that colour. I only ever saw 2 up for sale in the months I was looking and one of those is the

^ good idea. Gunna try that. Still would like somewhere to keep the mk3 indoors though.
-
You won't need the arches flaring. Just get the lip rolled back! You'll be looking at the lip of the wheel poking out of the arches, so you'll need stretch to keep the tread under.
-
I had new leads fitted in the summer, surelyt they should have lasted longer? When its not cold it starts fine. I wish I could get the mk3 in the garage but there's an 60s jag taking up space I thought getting a car cover, do they not scratch the paint?
-
Yeah they'll fit if 5x100. Just roll your arches cos they will poke slightly. 205 or 195 40s will be needed!
