  1. I was woundering that aswel. The valve on my Vr is broken, so the garage fitted a temp catch can and its collected a bit, not loads though. I thought about just fitting a breather filter, but wont it get clogged up?
  2. Well done on best mk3. Looked awesome in show and shine! I managed to get to the show and nearly home on a full tank. Managed 39mpg. What happened to tha club stand on sunday? I parked up, cleaned the car, went to get food and everyone had left ny the time I got back. The R32 Turbos were killing it down the strip. I need more power haha.
  3. Wheels are fitted. But excuse the stance atm. The coilies are seized. Tried to free the fronts today with WD40 and a blow torch (just a few seconds of heat). But nothing. So trying again tomorrow. The front needs to come down to get rid of the arch gap.... if the sump will let it.
  4. Ill see everyone sunday. Need to find another passenger seen as a mate dropped out last minute. Best to get there before 11 on sunday? Hopefully ill have my wheels sorted and fitted ready
  5. Never thought of that option haha. Any companies that do shallow sumps? Whats size spacers for the engine spacers? (or is it not advised raising the engine?)
  6. Changing the oil yesturday and noticed theres a few scrapes on the sump from where its been catching. The sump plug is even worse. Done a bit of research and the R32 seems a shallower sump but heard if it hits it will shatter unlike the VR sump which is stronger. Where can I get a strong shallow sump? Im know im going ot need a new oil pump and pick up (R32?) I dont see the point in running a sump guard becasue it only reduced clearance. Unles I get a shallow sump and raise the engine then fit 1 or a skid plate then the clearance might be the same but it wont be worse. I have thought about
  7. What time is everyone getting there for on sunday? Going to take about 3 and a half hours to get there.
  8. Tyre stretch varys from different manufactures. You can have the same profile but the stretch on a falken will look different to a stretch of something like a Hankook. Then if your being picky, different model of th e same brand stretch different. The falken 512 stretches better the 912, which stretches better than the 452. Im a fan of stretch. Not keen on chunky looking tyres. 195/40 on a 9 (conti tyre) 205/40 on a 9 (falken tyre) 215/35 on a 9 (dunlop tyre)
  9. Just changed the oil today so im hoping this might fix the problem. Is it actually worth using a catch tank? Ive got a temp one on now and its got alittle but of oil in the bottom. Would that clog the breather filter up? (Valve is broken, so had to re-route it) Seems to be alot of VRs blowing blue smoke,
  10. Dont block it off. The valve is broken on mine. Went to VW and its £106 for it cos you got to buy the pipe and some other parts aswel. Was thinking about using a catch tank. Ive got a temp one on now and its a little it of oil in it. That normal? got a bit of back pressure aswel, that normal?
  11. Et 15 on a 9J wheel will poke. Not massive but the rim will stick out. 195/40 on a 8 looks good Id go for 205/40 on a 9.
  12. Dont remind me! :-| Ticket is sorted. Think my passenger is sorted Car needs sorting (wheels, waiting on my manifold to arrive in the post) Then I can start cleaning
  13. You say you have them just lying around. possibly for sale?
  14. Those would be too low for tuck. Run those offsets if you want flush up front and poke out back. Running tuck you want the adpators to be small so to keep the ET numbers high. But to tuck 9s.... not to sure with standard arches. Could get them flush though
  15. Depends on the look you want to go for. Whether you want tuck, flush or poke. Whats the ET of the wheels now before adaptors? Id get both front and rear arches rolled.
  16. Expensive job? Will it have to be rebored and bigger pistons put in? We are going to change the oil in the next week see what that does. It had it changed but beofre I ot the senor replaced. Should I keep with 10w40 silver sytna?
  17. I need a set of wheels ready to roll for inters mate. Ive seen a set but the lad wont message me back, but hes been online since....
  18. Back pressure when the breather pipe is off mean whats?
  19. Got my icket and club pass in the post today Still hunting for wheels though.... tick tock....
  20. So what oil is everyone using? Mines for 10W40 Silver Synta in atm. Its got nearly 120k Ive been told duckhams is a good make? I want it changed before Inters.
  21. 17s dont look too big in a mk3s arches, but its down to personal taste. I think 15s look too small. So im either going to 16s or 17s. 17s have cheaper tyres, I paid a fortune for yokos with I had 16" BBS wheels. I ran adaptors for over a year with no problems. I just checked them every now and then to see if the neede tightening back up. A few of my mates use lock tight with their adaptors. For BMW adaptors your looking at about £300+. Same wtith Jap spec adaptors. Unles you get them custom made.
  22. BMW adaptors are expensive. Ive seen a fets of wheels I wanted but the price of adaptors put me off. Best to find wheels with a high ET then you can use spacers/adaptors to get the look your looking for. The twists ive got for sale are ET60 which gives loads of options.
  23. Got to be 10s? ETs will have to be spot on. My mates vento with 10s (with 225/40 tyres iirc)
