  1. You couls stick it on my old laptop if you want, then you haven't got to clean it after use?!!? :-)
  2. Have a look at this mate http://www.workshopmanuals.biz/VW.html
  3. Have you checked the pads? Any pad will do really, from gsf, euro car parts, anywhere really, they should be cheap enough.
  4. The rear brake calipers clamp on a ratchet type mechanism. So if you pull the handbrake up and down then the caliper will ratchet up, and hopefully hold the car! If this doesn't work, then maybe your pads are too low, or the cables have stretched.
  5. Hello mate, yeah i can weld the cat up if needed, possibly over the weekend, depending on the weather, if its raining i'm free! And we can have a look at this other problem if you want?
  6. Yeah, can't see it being much different mate. Is there no haynes/bentley/russek manual available?
  7. I agree with everyone above, its all done to personal preference. Do you want progressive power with max power at the red line? Do you want a kick in the back at 3500rpm? Do you want that kick, but with twice the work involved? It all down to you. See if you can befriend someone that has a charged vr, and go out in it to make your mind up, s/charger or tub.
  8. There is an earth next to the light fitting. Also check all the connections, on the rear and side lights.
  9. Its some sort of solenoid valve, which connects on a tube from the carbon canister, then onto the inlet manifold.
  10. No its the other way around mate. If the wastegate vebts back into the exhaust too early, i.e. close to the turbo, it can cause turbulant gas flow out of the turbine, and reduce spool up time. If its routed into the exhaust further do, i.e just before the cat, then its better, but it must not flow into the exhaust too steep or it will cause the above effects.
  11. Maybe a chance for Harry to make a shiney debut aswell? Katies got Harry, she goes running tuesdays an thursdays.
  12. Hmm, cadrado van sounds interesting!! Cheers anyway mate.

  14. My van broke down this morning so everythings a bit up in the air at the mo. Going to be getting lifts with my boss till its fixed, and i don't think he wants to be up at the workshop til late preping my car with me!! Thanks guys, but until i know anymore about my van then its a no-go for now. Sorry, and thank you :-/
  15. Dunno mate, something to do with being blown by a snail?? :-) Lol!!
  16. Tuesdays and thursdays are better, but friday could be good, then it will roll onto the weekend.
  17. Yeah sounds like a plan, either week day evenings, or a weekend? Make it a mini team south meet, buta help paul with his body work meet!!
  18. Mopped it sat but it put swirl marks all over it. Started again sunday washing, clay baring, polishing, and waxing.
  19. Big thanks to Mark for coming over yesterday and helping, well, doing most of the start of the prep!! I bought a new tailgate, which came with a votex body coloured spoiler, and later rear bumper on saturday. Mark started on the old fuel filler flap, which needed more fillering and shaping, as still needs a bit more time on it, but its an improvement on what i'd done previously in the year! The tailgate was striped, and de-holed and vw badge recess removed. There was also a dent in the middle of the 'new' bumper which was filled and sanded. Also, in the front wing was the aerial hole
  20. Cheers Dan! Yep. Women seem to love the mulberry! :-)
