  1. Sky insurance mate, can't fault them at all. All mods declared, 150bhp increase in power.
  2. It could be a blocked cat? If your using 1?
  3. I'm using a helix clutch an flywheel. The gearbox is 'rattly' when idling and out of gear, but i've never worried about it. Seeing as though your going to put the gearbox on, you might as well put a none dual mass flywheel in as these are prone to failing.
  4. I would help make the bits mate but i can't with 1 hand! For the spacers i just turned up some steel in the lathe. Have you got an engineering company near you? I haven't had it round to 7000rpm in 6th yet! Yes shifting is alot more positive, but because i've removed the weight, it can be a little 'clunky'. No biggy because i can be abit hand fisted sometimes!!
  5. Like i said to vrsick, ity all depends on the weather. But thank you. Crash course 1; Don't crash!!!!!!!! How is the gt4? I could give you a crash course if you take me out for a spin? And yeah, sort of ruined the bowling idea hey? ;-)
  6. now come on dan.. u dont really think paul would choose white did you? (That was primer..!! lol ) Oh' date=' and Paul, If I can help with the rebuild matey, I got two left hands if thats any good..? I feel I owe u a favour or three already [/quote'] Thats a really kind offer, thanks. We'll have to see how this weather is over the next few weekends. But 2 left hands would be bloody brilliant!! My right hand is crap!!
  7. You can hire them for a couple of days mate, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arch-Roller-Wheel-Arch-Roller-Fender-Roller-/200526144026, you'll also need a heat gun to make life easier.
  8. Is it red? Only joking! Welcome to the club.
  9. When you get your gearbox, you need to remember; the bracket that holds the cabels on top of the gearbox, and all of the hydraulic clutch fittings that come out and join the the clutch pipe. N/S - Yes R32 should be the same as the 4 motion stuff. O/S - The length of the driveshaft itself, once stripped of both CV's, is 515mm. Both - I used a 3mm spacer on both hubs. When i shortened the shaft i turned up a piece of hard steel to fit very tightly inside the shaft tube. I lined the prop up with the gearbox as well as keeping the engine level ish. I used 3mm mild steel to make the gearbox brack
  10. It could be anything from the coil to engine. Start at your new coil and wrok towards the engine, replacing with new parts. Even though the dissy 'looks' ok, it may not be. Replace the lead that goes between the coil an dissy cap, test, if no replace cap and arm test, etc. Its got to be something along the line! Hope that helps.
  11. Wonderful example of an early vr. Congratulations on the FCOTM, well deserved! :-)
  12. Speak to Express paints ltd in portsmouth fella, they've been really helpful to me, sales and advise. Think they would spray it for you too. 023 9269 9138
  13. Don't scrap it, keep it up together. Vr's will become rarer, an are a great car. They just need a bit of tlc! :-)
  14. Nice 1. Those are big brakes, but theres nothing like having confidence in your middle pedal! How come you chose vredestien tyres?
  15. That was bloody brilliant! Made my day a bit more exciting :-)
  16. What do you mean by 'pushing the water out'? You'll probably need a new engine loom if your not staying dissy, so might be easier to keep the early loom/dissy etc and put it on your 'new' engine.
  17. I bought mine from euro car parts a few years back. Think it was about 90.
  18. How many miles has your engine done? I've heard of oil pumps becoming 'weaker', and causing top end noise on start up.
  19. You might be lucky mate, but running any engine with out oil won't do it much good. Just check oil level more frequently, and look out for blue smoke from the exhaust. Run it for 500 miles, another service, see how it sounds then. Fingers crossed for ya!
  20. Change it on the v5 form an your insurance company will need to be informed too.
  21. Very true! Wasn't going to go to the hospital but my boss made me. Didn't realise how serious it was! :-(
  22. Thank you very much! Until yesterday everything was going to plan. I went work, turned up on site to do some bits n pieces to some steel work we supplied, nothing major there. But when drilling a hole in a beam, i sliced my middle finger knuckle open (the 1 on my hand to finger), and also sliced most of the way through the tendon for that finger. It was on the edge of a piece of tin builders use on joists etc. So, with my writing hand- left hand out of action for up to 6 weeks, this project has come to an abrupt halt. :-( And yes, its was hard work trying to type this with my 'lesser' hand!
