  1. cone filters can damage the maf if they have been oiled prior to fitting apparently? im not 100% on this, just something i was told when i was having maf problems....
  2. Its not the TB i know that much, cleaned it out 6 weeks ago and is still spotless. Dont think its the MAF either, Its more than likely the Lambda, its bit of a long story, but think im on top of it! wouldnt hurt to clean the MAF tho, cheers adam. will drop you a pm with my number an pop round sometime cheers
  3. Ok so my car has started the crap idle/cut out routine again, but im not 100% its the MAF, does anyone have one i could plug in just to see if it makes a difference? im down in portsmouth btw. cheers!
  4. ah ok cool. just trying to get my facts straight on few things before i finalise my parts list for the build. got a while yet, and this will be my first turbo build, so there will probably be many questions ahead.
  5. ah cool, so would it be better to just not flow back into the exhaust at all?
  6. ok so apart from teh sound, are there any other benefits to fitting a screamer pipe? Pretty sure i read somewhere that routing the wastegate pressure back into the exhaust system helps speed up gasflow in the exhaust meaning you spool up quicker? may be talking b@££@^&s though! most of my research has been late at night after long days! anyone shed some light for me?
  7. Im up for that too. Mrs wont like it, but atm i dont like her very much so she can swivel! and plus that means i can call a favour when i start my turbo conversion and pester you for advice paul! hehe
  8. Ok so not updated in a while, things have changed somewhat now... have had nothing but trouble with EVERY modification the previous owners so called "Mechanic" did. so have repaired/replaced/refitted the following: MAF ISV K&N cone filter Lambda Exhaust manifold, refitted and heatwrapped Front engine mount Gearbox mount Gearbox oil HT leads Plugs Oil filter housing, oil and filter various breather and vac hoses and much much more i cant remember right now! After that little lot i decided i was due a few treats, so have bought and/or fitted the following: DeCat Strut brace 16x7.5J ET31 Aud
  9. all done now ( well kinda)! massive thanks to paul for all his help, was getting properly stressed by end of the day. still have a massive oil leak thanks to the prev idiot fubarring the oil filter housing, but have a new one coming tomo, so lob that on, refill, and job done
  10. not yet but its on the list, along with a fan switch with lower op temps. kinda weird that it started after i heatwrapped the manifold?
  11. yeah got 2 bottles og G12+ kicking around so will defo be doing coolant after my temps lately!
  12. quick vid of the car i took on sat when paul dropped my engine mount off for me.... could only get it onto my facebook due to bloody iphone, so if you need to add me its james joynson, portsmouth. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=474719574017
  13. actually you are right bungy they do list 10w40 semi as standard oil on opie, but for upgrade they list 5w40 fully synth.....?? i find that strange though as usually when an engine is over 100k you up the grade of oil, not reduce it?? confused!
