  1. hi guys i have a 1997 vr6 golf that i purchased it runs well but it seems as though the previous owner has changed the gearbox as i redline in 5th gear at 110 mph this does not seem right to me, i jus wanted to know if a r32 gearbox would fit and if any mods are needed to fit it to my engine also i would like to prefferably twin turbo my vr6 is this possible?
  2. well 2 months after i bought the car it started mixing oil and water so i replaced the head gasket then 2 months or so later started doing the same thing now i put k seal in there and it has stopped mixing but when the car gets to operating temp the water starts coming out of the expantion tank i have even taken out thermostat and it still does the same thing the other day i took my plugs out and they are black and seems like oil is getting into the chambers so i am just at a loss now so i was thinking about changing the engine because i have my turbo waiting to go on now
  3. hey guys basically i would like to know if i replace my engine with another( only because i cant find out why mine is pushing the water out) mine is a distrubutor type can i fit a coil pack engine in mine and what if any mods do i need to do?
  4. hi guys i have now taken the thermostat out and run the car without it but it is still thowing the water out of the bottle i am now at a loss do you think i have to get a new head i have ordered a new gasket and spacer as i have a gtr34 skyline turbo to fit on it but now that i cant seem to solve this water problem i am slowly losing hope
  5. well i have taken the thermostat out and run the engine and it is still heating up and spitting the water out i am at a loss now any ideas? anyone please?
  6. ok thanks for that my cousin changed it for me and assured that all was fine also a red light with a pic of a thermostat light keeps comin on even when i have full water i am about to check the thermostat now. also is there a way i can get my fan to come on earlier as it comes on at 90? so it could be the head then? i did put head and block sealer which i was told would fix any leaks in the gasket and block or head. it was mixing oil into the water but since puting that in it has stopped now its just the losing water part left to sort out

  8. thank you all for the replies i am just waiting for the rain to stop then i will be going out to check on it to answer an earlier question the fan comes on at about 90 deg is there a way that i get it to come on earlier? also does anyone know what the compression is ment to be as i have a compression tester and i want to check my compression
  9. i have the same prob with mine the light is always flashing even wen the water level is full also my engine pushes the water out once it gets to operating temp and i dnt knw why this car seems to be one big mistake even tho i love my vr6 i am really getting stressed with it now

  11. ok thanks for that but the water seems to be flowing through the system quite freely up until it heats up then it bubbles back into the bottle
  12. hi everyone i have a 1995 vr6 golf bought it about a year ago after two weeks of owning it i discovered that there was oil in the expantion tank i took the head off and replaced the gasket after about a month the same thing so i have put in wonder weld and done everything to instruction now there is no oil coming into the cooling but the car seems to overheat then the water comes up into the expantion tank and starts gushing out through the overflow once the fan comes on the water goes back into the engine runs ok for a bit then it does the same thing the car seems to be pushing the water ou
