  1. Mate, you want to protect the turbo oil return from that exhaust else you'll have a bit of a fire! Looks good though, i know what you mean about the noise, its ok, but after a while can get on ya tits!
  2. Could it be a pipe leaking onto the pas pipe? Like 1 of the pipes coming into the oil cooler on the front of the engine?
  3. Ah, i've got an early type, where the ecu lived under the back seats. Sorry bout that... hope you resolve it! (I'd remove the abs anyway because its pants, i'm not a big fan of it tbh.)
  4. Freaks me out when it happens! Pleased for you though Nat, happy days!
  5. I wouldn't have thought the abs system is that 'regulated' by matching ecu's and pumps. Surely, like you said, if you replace the ecu with a matching one, then it should all work ok. They could be getting mixed up with an engine ecu? And having to match the later one's with clocks etc. I've got an ecu at home, i'l check parts numbers later if you want?
  6. Cheers all! Lets just say, its being used in the daddy!
  7. So, the time has come to start a new build thread. I started off with my old mk3, and fully stripped it!
  8. £50 delivered fella, tis a genuine cat, can get it posted by tnt, should be next day too.
  9. I've got a spare vr cat if your interested in buying it. From experience, cars made on and after 1993 MUST have a cat to pass an mot, regardless of emissions. As i say, this is just me, using different mot places and different cars 1993 or above, and trying to get an mot without a cat.
  10. Bleed the clutch too, there is a nipple on the back of the slave cylinder, on top of the gearbox.
  11. I can have a look for you tomorrow if you want?
  12. Well, after winning COTM for March, something that i really wanted came up for sale, so i bought it! I really didn't want to do this so close to winning it, but needs must an all that... Unfortunatly, that means the end for my mk3.... so MOST PARTS ARE FOR SALE. I'l be using the engine, transmission, running gear etc on the new project. Its a shame to do this but i feel that the next project will be better. I've had fun building the mk3, its had its highs and lows, and changed so much! Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the build, and those that have found this thread inspirin
  13. If you have a read through the thread, its all in there, somewhere!
  14. Tidy, so what you gunna use that for then? Kettle? Fridge?
  15. Lol! Result, but now your stuck with wheels that don't fit your car! 5 years, and for you to forget for 5 years? Doesn't seem possible?
  16. Did you buy a new turbo or just replace the shaft? Can't understand why it did that?
