  1. I think you are not upto date on everything that goes on and i dont want it to seem as though you are being pounced on but if a car is not fitted with seat belts they dont have to be fitted if the car came with seatbelts they must be worn. I have a mk1 golf gti and fitting abs to it would probably be more dangerous than using it without.
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-MK3-8v-Front-Suspension-Bushes-in-Polyurethane-/390380829883?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ae482bcbb These people seem to be competetively priced i have new wishbone and topmounts being fitted soon.
  3. i think the bit about the engine not needing a cat is wrong the car was sold with a cat and therefore should have one for its mot, i may be wrong but might be worth checking out before the next one is due. Looks like a tidy install though and a clean car. Welcome to the club.
  4. Buy the best you can afford if you cannot afford damping adjustable then they are simple enough to buy a set of coilovers and set them to the height you want your vehicle sat at.
  5. Check JIM POTTERS or FISHWICK'S build thread's, 2 different ways 2 different prices.
  6. I dont get wheel spin exept in the wet but mines auto.
  7. If they are coilovers i doubt the springs will fit correctly gti and vr6 share similar suspension so i reckon stick the lot on. got to be better than choipped springs.
  8. You will need a vento bonnet and headlights to go with that grille if its what you really want.
  9. Slicks would be better than 888's but if you dont want to haul wheels around they are one of the better track(road legal) tyres.
  10. Same here 178 new posts but only 10 showed and 8 of those were from the same thread.
  11. Dlea had a stripped out mk3 with schrick cant remember what times he ran but i think you'll be lucky to get 14's without alot of practise at the pod. There are plenty of practise days (run what you brung) throughout the year starting in February. 6 branch, remap decat toyo 888's etc will help.
  12. Go to ford and ask for 1 for a vr6 part number should be on here somewhere.
  13. Thats not drifting its rallying completely different kettle of fish drifting is done on tarmac. A very skillful driver i must admit.
  14. Oil change deffinately will help if it hasnt been done i did mine at 80,000 miles.
  15. Because its alot cheaper to get the battery tray from mk3 golf and a couple of spot welds to fix it to the boot floor. The cable would be the expensive part but that can be bought from a car breakers out of a bmw or such like.
  16. Nothing wrong with an auto had mine over 3 years and if i am anything to go by they are driven harder than manuals as you cant just stick it in a high gear for better economy and it does like to kickdown at 50. I am about to swap wishbones on mine but my wheels are sitting perfect with no bad tyre wear that i had before changing them last time. I have mine 4 wheel aligned after fitting wishbones. And welcome to the club..
  17. Why didnt you ask the people that mot'd it they are the proffessionals?
