    Im on 17" and i did notest a drop in acceration, Put coliovers on at the same time so donno about the change in ride altho it seemed to handle very well. I got very very low and alittle abit of arch rolling sorted that out.

    Your castor still out, But not by very much, Shouldn't realy make much of difference. I sure VW do a tool where you can slack the ball joint bolts off and reset the castor??? As i said you need to check your bushs on your wishbones!! Also wishbone bolt could be loose Then as kilo killa said a brake test from an MOT test center should be able to tell you if you have a sticking caliper/ Deterating brake pipe! Then can brake away inside and cause a blockage. If it pulls when accerating it could be a broken/ soft engine mount, Normaly the gearbox side, the fuild leaks out of them These are the

    Yep I can understand that, Defiantly alot easyer that way, I am a fan of the saff cossies and realy want some rear wheel drive, Saying that tho id end up modiflying that aswell, Just can't help myself lol

    Multi meter put across the battery terminals when the engines running will tell you if its charging, You want around 13v but ideally 14v showing on your multi meter. Battery should be holding about 12.5v when not running but a hydrometer test in all cells is the only way to check the condition of the battery for sure, Although you said its got a new battery so.... As for the terminals can’t really tell without looking, Would try new bolts and perhaps file the terminal to see if you can get them to tighten further, Do they look worn??? and the new battery tried was the right one??     They reset at 300.000 anyway, So ive only got another 160,000 more miles to do and bit ontop to make it beliveable before the price of my VR rockets LOL No service history yet, Due first servie in 5000 mile haha

    Yeah your right! ive hurd about that, Wouldn't realy fancy having it round a corner with stretched tyres myself tbf. Altho robbing me of my MOT pissed me off I also had a cracked windscreen, ABS light on, No numberplate (looks better lol). And my front tyres where very very close, (Inside edges didn't have tread on them for about 1" and where 1.6mm across the rest) and got pulled over for doing 60 in a 40 in the first place (which they dropped) Also had a sticker i made in the back saying " IF IT DONT RUB IT AINT A DUB" which he wasn't to impressed with Copper even test drove my car lol, I t

    The VW window winders are mint, Realy easy once you know how, Much better than the C clips fitted to other makes of cars that can be realy hard and fiddly to remove. Love working on VWs, Removing seats, adjusting handbrake, Balljoints, Drive shafts gearbox end, Removing the front end are a few other good designs from VW making them easyer to work on.

    My VRs got 788bhp with standard internals , About the gearbox tho, I thought it was regaining traction after wheel spinning, Therfore shocking the gearbox with all that torgue that caused the damage? Pehaps 4 wheel drive/ know wheel spinning no shock of regaining tration ect... possibly more reliable!!

    Police took my MOT away from me for scrubbin/ sidewall damage. They where 215/45/17s on the back, My front tyres where also at 1.6mm, Piss take as i was going to swap the lot for a set of 215/40/17 in the next few days. Lower profile would have sorted it but just saying watch out!!!!

    I want good mate, Was thinking that one piece might be better/stronger but pehaps not, Would you say standard new items are the way to go as far a big power is involved. What vavles are you using in yours? Would also be intrested to find out what valves Kev and Lizard racing are using in there high powered VRs, Cheers for the reply

    Here are a few pics of my car. Feel free to give your opinion of it. You've probably heard me asking lots of questions and now you can see what I’m doing. There are pictures of the car before I started work, and now in its current state, i.e no engine, wheels, brakes etc getting striped down for a full respray.     :-( Think mines got the highest milage so far, Payed £2200 for it aswell but full VW service history and was stardard when I got it so i dont think it got abused. Come on somones gota have more than 140,000
