DIY car remap, ECU tuning, Millage corection software, £9.99 ebay???
Phat VR6 replied to Phat VR6's topic in Engine Tuning
Yer thats what I thought, I wouldn't trust myself messing with the map earther. How about raising the redline tho? I can imagine it been quite simple, Or removing the solf limiter -
Corrado VR6 head gasket replacement
Phat VR6 replied to SCVR6's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I thought the reason it had blown in the first place was because the headgasket couldn't take the boost, Only on for 10,000? Unless it was because it was poorly fitted in the first place -

Head spacer to lower compression, metal head gasket, ARP head bolts if you can. You can carry on spending money but there whats needed realy! Would defo recomend the spacer and gasket How many miles has it done, Could be worth doing the timing chains while your there if there worn Sounds nice tho mate, Pitures? Welcome -
Ive just got VAG.COM and while there I notest this, It clames you can remap your car, along other things, your self which I can't see been true. Has anyone brought this and done anythink good with it? If anythink I would like to increase my redline, do you think its possible with this software, anyone used it before http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ECU-REMAPPING-CHIP-TUNING-OBD-CAR-DIAGNOSTIC-SOFTWARE_W0QQitemZ150201972864QQihZ005QQcategoryZ30921QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers Tom

You can get that stuff you pore in the petrol tank to increase the octain level to 105 instead of 98? Its cheeting abit lol Have you taken the cone out of your airbox?

Very cool and very fast, Abit annoyin they used the 2.0 16v T instead of a VRT. Sorry people but i think it looks horrible, Backs quite nice but the front end is just fully wrong. Still wicked because of what it is!!!

:-d guessing its normal then. Did used to know the oil temp it stops doing the job properly and starts braking down. Can't remeber now tho I like your car btw (black fully smoothed doors) Its rare to see both side strips and door handles smoothed. I was going to go for one or the other. Propbaly remove the door handles as less work, more protection in car parks lol How come you didn't do the front bumper? Wasn't sure if i would like both smoothed but now ive seen it i do, Now i donno what im doing to mine again lol

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. I think you should WD your handbrake and duct tape your broken engine mount "clever aint it" sorry dude you pissed me off

It was my first car the 1.4, then I fitted the 288 brakes, I had never driven anythink else and you can slam your foot to the floor with 1.4 and it wont lock, Just slow you down nicly. Which I did daily for a year or so before uprating the brakes HENCE why after i fitted my brakes i did the same thing Sorry for not been as "clever" as you mate, just trying to give the geeza an idea of how good standard VR brakes should be.......

Keeping the 4 wheel drive would put the price up alot?? If thats what you where on about doing, But 20k does sound alot, I recon you could do a standard R32 front wheel drive convertion including standalone ECU for about 5k if you did it your self No way a R32 is as light as a 16v would say the 16v alot lighter

Looks very good mate. I realy like the boot lid! Have the police said anythink about it covering up the numberplate?? and whats it like to change number plate bulbs? Looks wicked tho, LOL you running around on 4 wheel nuts? -
Sounds like the head gaskit to me! The oil cooler wouldn't make steam come out the exhaust! Is there anyway you can disconect the oil cooler from the coolant, buy past it or somthink, See if that stops the loss of coolant and mayo in oil cap. Lossing alot of oil though. My guess is its coming out your exhaust due to headgaskit. Whats your coolant look like?

I think it looks wicked to be honist, I like the front end, fogs and the smoked headlights. Only thing would do to the front end is De bagdes 2 slat grill, There cheep from ebay aswell? I like the audi wheels and its slamed, What size are they? Also like the german plates, and wipers! Donno why but realy like it, probaly how low it is with the little wheels on, spacers would be nice, Speed bumps must be a nightmare?, It is for me!! -
Nope dont think so Mk4s have different surpension set up and my coilovers woundn't fit. and exhaust I dont think. Probaly abit exspenive mk4 tbf?? Think ill probaly end up getting an 8v GTI, been having a look at a few, guite cheep, cheeper to insure and guessin there nippy, 115bhp or somthink. Probaly feel like nothink compared to my VR tho, but will be a good runbout till i get the VR back and would get me to the ring march
-
Ive had both and wouldn't say thats true! It would be very hard to feel that anyway, but i recon my 3 doors faster round the bends. VR6 turbo in the back of a MK1 You would need good throttle control to keep the back end in tho LOL one day tho im going to make one haha
-
As above im want to get a cheep to run/ buy MK3 with 5 stud The plan is to swap all my VR bits Wheels, surpenstion, exhaust back box, headlights, seats, Brakes and braded brake pipes, grill ect onto a cheep 5 stud MK3 while my VR is off the road getting seriours body work for rust and shaged rear quater, smoothing, respary, track preped ect. I know all my bits will fit on a 2l 16v but does anyone else know if they will fit on a 8v or any of the tdis, 1.8 ect as the 16v abit to exspenive Can't wait lol, I can go abit mad with this one might bodge smooth is with just filler and paint it ma
