Find a long way to work and leave 15mins earlyer. Hit the contry roads after work. Thats what id do

Well' date=' it is alot of other things you need than just the gearbox. So yes, I asume its alot off work, and very expensive. But then again, you are sure it will hold for a good amount off time. [/quote'] Got the idea of putting 4 wheel drive from a 4 motion in my MK3. Pimp Cat sent me this link with tells you how to mod the rear sycnro axal to fit a Haldex diff, And it also tells you how to mount the 02M gearbox with a bracket somone has made ($135), Involes cutting gearbox mounting cup off subframe, Adding braket to box, Getting engine/box in right place and welding gearbox mount back on

:-d Sound mate.

There are two sensers inside the black plactic thermatate housing, Unless you got aircon, Then theres 3. If you get it hot then disconnect them one at a time i imagine if you look at the temp gaugue it will show you which one is which. You want to change the one to the ECU, Not the one to your gauage, Sorry can't remember which colours which!!!, Does sound like your overfueling btw, works out to 15mpg. Alot of black sut in the exhaust is another sing

You might still fail if the MOT if the testers any good. The light is ment to come on and then go out after a few seconds but you might be lucky. Only way to get round this would be to put a capacitor connected to a relay, conected to the ingintion, So the capacitor gets charged up while your ignition is off, When you turn on the ignition the relay clicks over to conect the capacitor to the light relising all the power contained buy it to put the light on for a few seconds. Im doing this as im removing my ABS and if it wont go though MOTs then thats what im going to have to do. Sounds l

Tuning= Decat, exhaust system, Cams, Port/polish big valve head, make it 3.0 with bigger pistions, enlarged polished throttle body, ecu mapping, superchargers, turbos, low ratio gearboxs. Depends on money. Lowering 40mm should be a simple case of lowering springs. Good chose in wheels keeping vw/audi, They make copys of them for a 1/3 of the price, mine cost £300 new, vws £1500ish, You can't tell the difference. Get it lower first. Then wheels, 18" might be too big

Temp senser causing it to over fuel?? It will more lightly be the one that talks to your ECU not the one that works the gauge. If you disconect each it should tell you which is which, Can't remeber which colour it is. Apart for that fuel leaks? Do you drive it hard? What you said works out to about 20mpg. Mine driven hard did as low as 13mpg, 17mpg mid way and 30ish on the motorway driven well, thats going off the car computer which isn't very reliable tho.

Hears mine, On Camera phone and not clean, but will have to do!

stealth racing charges a £1000 but that bloke might be cheeper. ill look into it

Thanks for that binliner. So I can't see a problem with fitting the R32 box and getting the front wheels running its taking the power to the rear thats the hard bit. So I take it that the syncro floor pan has got a wider prop tunnle than the 2wd (where the exhaust runs?) And the fuel tank needs to be relocated inside the car (which I happen to be doing anyway) And the spare wheel well will need to be choped out and plated to make room for the diff and rear axal ect Also could I carry on using the same topmount turrets that mine uses (at the back) or does the syncro/ R32/ 4 motion have a d

Fair play, He seems to deal in mosty motorbikes but if you say he can do a good job on a VR then thats good enuff for me, Its abit exspenive tho!!, Arnt they normaly about £1000 for a Big Vavle port and polished head? When I could just turn the boost up more!! The reason I would be changing the vavles would be to make the engine as reliable as possible, Not realy to gain power. If money was know object then of course I would get it done, Just depends how much it would cost?? Any idea how much he would charge if you have looked into it before? Cheers

LOL mate your profile pictures abit scary

Now that sounds like a good idea. Might have to join edition38 have have a look, Cheers for that

Where does the MK3 syncro prop run? In the middle of the car next to the exhaust?? Does anyone know where I can get pictures of the bottem of a Mk3 syncro, Pehaps next time you go on a ramp somone could take some pics for me. Want to put R32 4 wheel drive and gearbox into my front wheel drive mk3 golf Thanks alot Tom
-
Sounds like it will, you just need a grinder a rolling R32, lots of time, somwhere to fab you up some drivshafts up and a welder. I want to take my front wheel drive Mk3 and fit R32 4 wheel drive system! How would i go about getting a syncro floor pan without buying a syncro? Or would it make more sence to mod my own rear end using space frame chassie?
-
Come on!! I know theres somone out there thats done this before, lol, What rad did you use and out of what make and model of car?? Cheers everyone for the help. Just want to save myself alot of messin around buy finding somone thats done it before!!
-
Good man, Thats what I was looking for! Thanks for that, Now ive got too many to chose from lol. Probaly go with your recomendation " Supertech" They do standard sizes as well and are designed for turbo convertions. Handling the extra heat and apranty inproving flow and reliablity. Would also consider the SCHRICK vavles as its a name well hurd of.

fu**ing evil car!!!!!!!!!!!, If you ever come round birmingham way you gota take me for a drive lol
-
Thats what I was thinking. I can't think why valves would be 2 piece in the first place? I would think they where weaker but if there defo strong enuff then im happy getting some new standard items. But is anyone aware of uprated vavles. Possibly soduim filled?
-
how much work is fitting the 02M gearbox??
-
He said its not standard and the 4 wheel drive can be turned off, Its got to be running a MK4 R32 4*4 gearbox, they can take 600bhp and have switchable 4 wheel drive system (only when the front wheels spin the power is transered to the rearwheels) ! im sure Mk2 syncro haven't got 4 wheel drive that you can't turn off!!
