  1. I "high build primer" mine then rubbed them down/ painted them. Takes abit of time tho
  2. Thanks craggsy. Is 704 the latest then? Where did you get yours from and would you say its worth upgrading? Hows the cable different? Surly if its the 16 pin obd2 cable it wouldn't matter
  3. I got vag.com off ebay for cheep along with a ODB2 cable.. I dont think its the full version that VW uses but was just wondering, Its the "VAG.com release 409-1" version, Is this the latest upto date one you can get. If not where can i get it from. Thanks Tom
  4. Only one more thing. Clean all the crap out of the allen key bolt head and use a tapping hamer to make sure your allen key goes all the way into the bolt. Most times that the bolts get rounded its because the allen key isn't all the way in
  5. Nothink to do with the fact you washed your car dude, well i wouldn't think so anyway First thing you need to do is change the battery in the fob. Im pretty sure that will fix it.. When was the last time you changed it? Did it use to work the central locking even if the doors where open?? If it didn't then a door swich could have gone or broken wire in the loom.. So it still thinks that the door open. There a few things you can try but in the end your going to have to take it to place it was fitted or a alarm shop. but change the battery first Hope this helps Tom
  6. ummm ok theres a AUX water pump. electric... but that wont realy make a dry bearing noise.... you could disconect the plug off that and see if that stops as can get abit noisey somtimes apart from that there nothink else apart from a chain guide which is about 3/4 up the engine. Oil pumps on the bottem so wouldn't be traveling that far up..
  7. Sorry fegot to say. There chatting aload of bull because its alot of messing around for the money they get.... I have to twist there arm at my place to get them to do it Dont matter what size your wheels are camber is camber, Just get it set to the factory settings, its know different how low it is ect. They wont be able to do the backs tho. Only way to do the backs is by chamber plates put behind the sub axal but its not leigal
  8. An oil cooler will be needed. Running rotrex at lowest boost.. 10psi you will idealy want a lower comprestion head spacer and ARP head and rod bolts. Any more boost and you probaly want uprated rods and forsed pistons ect V9 and V1 V2 ect are good for 300bhp if thats what your after theres no point in the rotrex.. If you want any more bhp then youd have to go rotrex I say go rotrex and make a intresting tread on fitting it.. with lots of pics :-d
  9. Drop the belt off for a few minutes (not too long as it will overheat) and see if the noise goes away. If is does then you know its alternator/ water pump/ tensioner/ PAS or air con if you have it Then spin the the water pump and belt tenstier ect by hand and see if one feels ruff/ noisey ect Hope that helps Tom
  10. Dont be a wimp lol :-d bag of ready mix tarmac at 2 am
  11. So Is your coolant level going down?? After you've been driving it for abit so its hot ect.. is there white smoke getting pumped out the exhaust or does it run clear. If your oil looks ok eg black and not white then your ok on that side. If your exhaust runs clear then your ok on that side. But sounds like it could be pressurising your coolant system.. If you got a compression tester you might aswell give it a test, Remove all the leads and disconect the coil pack plug, Remove spark plugs one at a time and turn it over on the starter, Do it hot and cold. Running problem a VAG.
  12. As said above check your tyre presures, Sound like there under infalated to me. It will handle better on 15-16 but if you got some wide 17s and got it as low as it was on the 15s if not lower then it shouldn't be much worse. But it also sounds like the cheep tyres.
  13. As said the rotrex is the best and you can still run it off different size pullys for different PSI depending how built your engine is but i think the lowest psi is 10psi... Which is still going to give you around the 300bhp mark. As far as i know after 350bhp you have to go standalong ECU and after standalone it seems that well over 500bhp can be abtained Due to the way it works it drains less power from the engine than a V9.. And can produce as much at 20psi with a 70mm pully.. where as the V9 i think only does 12psi on there highest tune.. Im yet to own one but it seems to be the best out
  14. This is great, I fcuked my standard sump up on speed bumps and was looking for a shallow sump..Didn't have any luck but now its found me lol Doing a engine rebuild aswell so would be nice to changed the oil pump but im sure there over £200. Thanks real phat VR6 lol
  15. muit meter to check conection
  16. Ive had a 4 door cus i lied to myself that it didn't matter. Then a few months down the line it stated to bother me lol Way easy tho and my mates hate the fact they cant open the windows in the 3 door but they just look better Craggy your car looked mint on the deep dish whys it now seem to be running on standard rims?
  17. So there the same size just vented? Less brake fade??
  18. So there the same size just vented? Less brake fade??
  19. You could try and 1500 grit it and polish.... worth a try before you get it sprayed
  20. As far as the diff goes i imagine its how you want to drive it. I smoke my tyres round corners and take offs in my N/A VR so i wouldn't mind a LSD even on N/A... Im sure it would improve my take offs and corners But theres no reason why you couldn't run standard diff on 280bhp. You would just wheel spin all the time unless you use the throttle less
  21. What was that in Eat this, Standard VR or the 320bhp?? As said above the willams that did 14s could have been quite tuned
  22. I would say they would paint the doors only and then polish the other pannels to match... Spent 2 year in a body shop.. £300 sounds abit to cheep but £500 sounds about right.. You having the glass out on the tail gate?
  23. My moneys on the 16v :-d, Quite fast tbf, not much slower than the VR
  24. I know some places to do 140 :-d But as you say its the acceration which is the fun bit Id be intrested in finding this out... A VR in a Mk2 and in a Mk3 are the same so your best bet is to ask your brother what he did to get them together. If its a Mk3 16v box then the gearbox mount and gearchange is in the same place.. You might have to swap over to the 16v cluch and flywheel..
