  1. Its nice to see what need Ive ended up buying a black mk3 cl shell for £700 so im going to be using that. Ill make alittle thead of the work im doing How fast was your crash pete, just out of intrest?
  2. Ive got the hole lot off my old VR if you need it, motor glass mec ect PM if you need it
  3. Ive got standard once. Looked good on the car but need to have a closer look at them if your intrested
  4. Be sure your muffler bearings are properly shimmed as well... :^) What are these muffler bearings??
  5. If you use the jack that comes with the car you can get it high enuff to get a trolly jack under it. I use a tool i made. 1 meter long metal rule will a hole in the end, Stiff wire, Loop it though the hole in the end of rule to make loop, Have the end of the wire longer than the rule Hole door open at top edge, Slide the rule indside the door dragging the loop on the inside of the window (holding the wire in your other hand) Once loop goes over door pin pull wire tight and pull up with rule holding wire tight pulling up door pin up. Easy 15 seconds tops once you done it once Please do

One of my mates that owns a Mk1 golf just sent me this :@ Im the first to admit that a standard mk3 isn't the best looking car in the world but once you do abit of work to them they look dam fine. My responce to him is that mk1 and mk2 owners need to get some imagination as there all the same, I see so many different well moded mk3s out there where as all the mk1 and mk2 tend to be the same just slammed with different wheels.... Not that I don't like mk1 and mk2s i think there dirty, Just dont see why theres so many haters for the mk3 :@ Rant over :-d

  9. Looks nice for around £2500 dont it, I think ontop all you would want an LSD and ARP head and rod bolts and oil cooler. About it realy isnt it???
  10. Looks like you need to start playing with some of the buttons then lol, The rear axal is indpendant instead of a soild rear beem like the mk3. I think they copyed it off the old Civic typeR and the new Civic uses a solid axal like the mk3 making worse round corners than the old one, Abit weird realy. I think that 0-60 time was for the one with the flapy gearchange. Hows the ride comfort? My unkle says is horrible but his got run flat tyres on his which makes it very ruff
  11. LMAO pete is there anythink you need to get that can't be got from a mk3, Or anythink that gets damaged in the process so it wont go back in my mk3?? Thinking of putting my mk3 in a mk2 untill ive finshed my mk3 shell then swap it all back over
  12. Respray is the best bet to get it looking mint, You can get the same colour paint with a tiny bush. Fill the chips in but dont go over the orinal paint, So your trying to butt it upto the orinal paint if you see what i mean. Then after dry cut and polish it down and you wont be able to see it anymore. Same with rest of car, Cut polish and then wax

  14. Had a mooch around and its 0.2 seconds faster 0-60, Does it in 6.9 with the VR ment to be 7.1 Way better round the bend tho due to that fancy rear axal
  15. doing a mk1 convertion isnt the same as putting it in a mk2 (which justs bolts in ) Im unsure tbf as ive never done one, I know you need to weld your own engine mounts in ect. I dont think anyone on hear owns a mk1 so its possible that know one can help you. At a guess you need Engine, Gearbox, Clutch, drive shafts, ECU, Looms, Clocks, Fuse box, VR fuel tank or just pump. Cable change gear mec. And front brakes and sub axal, Rear subaxals. Could be easyer to leave it 4 stud and use the mk1 brakes stubs ect and get the driveshafts shourted and fabricated to fit the mk1 CV joints As i say
  16. Can't you use a stand alone ECU and then get rid of key ect? Make new loom and throttle body?

  18. Just and idea. Everyone seems to like saying how much cheeper there insurance is than mine haha But never go into alot of detail. My idea is if you note the above it might help when desiding what insurance company to use. It will give a good reference point to what companys give desent prices for VR owners. If its usefull and enuff people reply it could be made a sticky?
