a vr aint properly run in till its broken the 100k, thats when the engine is all nice and loose and it rev's a little bit more freely. so long as you keep ontop of servicing, the engine will long outlast the shell, i only changed mine coz i was told the chain guides had gone. turned out the monkey could hear my belt tensioner squeeling and as i knew no better let the job go ahead, turns out the guy i sold it to to rebuild didnt bother and said it was the easiest revving vr lump he'd ever come across and in perfect nick. oh well we live and learn

mines k plate 93 and got just over 140k on the clocks but had a 60k engine fitted 4 k ago. the old engine was removed at 136k and the guy i sold it to has putt another 10k on her with a lead right foot.

here's another of mine. if you click it i done 4 in total in the last 2 days. lol the really shaky one was the misses trying to record it for me from the passenger seat, joining a3 south from m25. she didnt start recording till i hit 2nd plus i was joining on a bend so couldnt really give it full beans in 1st and 2nd or it would of spat me out lol.

you gotta love the sound of a vr on full chat lol, i did cheat with mine a bit that was just sitting there with the door open giving it a rev, it aint to loud inside the car for some reason unless im really giving it but the i cant hold the phone to video it lol

minesgot 2.8 vr6 on it. a ford galaxy has v6 dohc if you fancy something different but its got a ford badge instead of the vw one. i beleive there are others

i would of liked to go but after some 1st grade maths i cant do 4th thursdays of each month for atleast next 3 months as they fall on my cal out shift. maybe make 1 or 2 closer to end of the year

Can any one tell me which v6 engine is used by nissan rally. may poss have a used rally engine coming my way and just wanna know if its worth making space for. i dont know if its a runner or ex rally coz its gone pop, but even if it is i can still take the top end away

i asked the same question recently was a long thread, just search for polo vr6. also there is a guy on the south coast who does the conversion by widening the front chassis rails, but it can also be done by shortening the vr6 front cross member, and the lupo was a twin engine r32, lithuanian fruitloop if i remember right. totally stock externally.

some dealers are allowing you to chop in for the 2 g scrap allowance but letting ya use it on a used/part ex car, so if ya can find a vw place thats doing it why not see if they got a mk4 4mo or 1.9tdigti you can take. im looking at chopping the vr in for a used 4mo. but if u want super mini citreon yeah i know there crap but a 2 g scrap allowance against a c1 means you get a brand new car for about 3 g. depreciation or not that cant be a bad deal -

here's another bit i found but dont know if its from a worthy source. All petrol-engined class IV vehicles first used on or after 1st August 1992 (i.e., K prefix registrations onwards) will have to go to a catalyst MoT station. Not all petrol-engined class IV vehicles first used on or after 1st August 1992 had to be fitted with a catalyst. However, the catalyst station will be able to identify whether or not a catalyst should be fitted and apply the appropriate emission tests. Vehicles fitted with catalysts and first used before 1st August 1992 are not subject to the catalyst emissions test.

right just ran a second fault code test and came up with engine speed sensor and hall sendor. i know where the hall sendor is as thats the cam sensor and i know ive cleaned that so it must be knackered but where is the engine speed sensor located and is there a way of cleaning this up before trying to swap it out?

ive heard wd40 or other water dispersant fluids do the job, by replacing the natural oil in the plastics. personally ivefound a few good layers of liquid bumper black shined the a layer of a half decent tyre shine, admittedly its leaves it a little greasey BUT it last far longer than other things ive tried
