VR6OC Go Karting Day/Evening? OCT 6TH? 6pm? :-) :-) Daytona Milton Keynes
gavinvr6 replied to hvr6's topic in Previous Events
do we have any confirmation on price? if the price is right i may be able to make it, but its a long drive from south coast so karting has to be at right price -
i tried doing a vr6 fan club a while ago, see my link in my sig, but nobody took it up. must be me

bungy get over to www.dubscene.net and join up. they are a nice enough bunch of people and i desperatly need a couple of other vr's come down and play bsince the only other car worth playing with is a mk4 turbo or a 300+ rallye which is pointless lol its at canoe lake (the one with the swan pedlo's) we have managed to arrange free parking for club members on the night at the lake car park, then will be rolling down to clarence pier carpark, behind the pub. kinda a slow drive by cruise down. but gotta pay to park at that one as clampers are a law to themselves there

if the coil pack runs in 3 banks of 2 why would my front 3 leads appear to be giving a weaker spark? as i said i arc'd the leads against the same bracket each time and the rears gave a good loud pop and a bright spark yet the front 3 were a faint click and a faint spark. ive replaced leads and plugs but have yet to take the car out on a good hard run through fear of breaking down again. if the coil pack was breaking down wouldnt it cause probs for an even number of cylinders. 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 or 5 and 6 not 2 4 and 6. i really need this fixed as i gotta drive from south coast to south londo

could be tps or isv or a number of things mate, get it on vagcom or even a cheap fault code reader can give you a point in the right direction

i personally changed the coil pack 2 years ago for a generic one costing £110 after showing up a supercharged jag. ok yeah it was an expensive lesson to teach him but it had to be done. i have changed the front 3 leads for ones i know to be good so cant be them arcing. just trying to eliminate as many things as poss before i go for the coil pack. i've had a quick look over all the wire's leading to the couil pack from the loom and they as well as the plug seem in good condition. is there like something these wires come from that plug into the coil pack like a pre amp thing or something to te

*****UPDATE***** after pulling the plug leads and arcing them to engine parts i found the rear 3 leads to give a nice loud popping noise and a chunky bright spark but the front 3 a quiet weak arse clicking noise and a barely visible spark. could this be the coil pack breaking down? any help would be great as i cant afford to replace the coil pack only to find out its not that

thats you opinion and you welcome to it, i appreciate all of em. but mirror squares i have never seen before, and unlike the usualy chequer style it looks totally unique instead of over played. i like the chequer look but also thought it had been done to death hence why ive used mirror reflective one's. ive painted the wheels black and it now looks better, just gotta finish the damn thing lol spadam meet at canoe lake (the one with the swan peddlo's, in southsea at 730pm on 24th (next thursday) for a local small dub meet. usually about 20 cars. then roll down to 'boy racer corner' and into cl

sorry mate didnt read it correctly, rushed it through. with my paint being v.dark it almost looks black at times so wouldnt look far off mine, probably make them square's really really jump out
-
it looks really good against the dark paint. f.y.i is dusky mauve pearl not black. have seen the mini's and other dub's with chequer bonnets or roofs but never seen one decent one front to back or with mirror squares. always black and white and roof or bonnet. it really get's attention at meet's and on the street people are always looking and pointing, the finish aint to clever due to bits of fluff and grit under the squares but it kinda add's to the effect attention grabbing=mission accomplished lol,

will be running it down and over the bootlid as well. glad it getting mixed reactions, just what i wanted. lol. i will add a frontal shot taken today at modified madness here on the south coast

i know some of you guys wont like this but beleive me it looks a lot better in the flesh, please let me know what you think. be it good or bad

on my way to no-rice tonight i pulled away from some traffic lights perfectly sensible and the car started running like a friggin pig, and seemed to be mis-firing on a cylinder. i pulled over and found #3 plug lead loose so i pulled it off and made sure the plug was ok, re-fitted the lead and tried pulling off, only for it to run bad again. its a lot worse under load than just revving. so i called the rac out. he tried similar things after i told him what happened and what i done then i got a nasty rattling noise come from the engine, sounded like some thing was loose inside the engine. it wa

ahhhh mj was wondering when you would find this lol, any tips you can gimme fella? i got em all sanded resonably smooth and a slight mirror finish to em but just cant get that last 'bling' factor out of em, im using 2 stages of soap bar (brown then blue) on a felt wheel and autoglym on a cottom mop. gotta be done on a tight budget tho mate so expensive or flash tools or paste's and polishes are out of the question and a lot of the work is being done by hand will add a new pic of the best one and can you tell me where to go from that stage
-
are these cryo kits any good? according to some sites ive visited you can cool the intake via a little bullet shaped thing, the fuel lines via a distribution block and spray it over an ic all from one bottle, im guessing all 3 would be over kill but should bring temps well below 40c if the waffle the sites pump out is right
-
nooo dont do it you totally upset the handling. something cheap like a gmax lowering kit can be had for 150 quid with shocks and springs, or there is always coilies going on here for good money

guys im going to be fitting mk4 1.8t rear calipers. what pads do i use? will my standard vr6 rear pads fit or do i need to use mk4 pads? car is: 1993 coilpack obd1 any answers will be a great help as i dont have time to dismantle and find nothing fits.

ben_ no they dont split, but im just doing the flat's of the faces, the centre's and lips/rim edge will be painted, probably gloss black, they are pretty easy to do though. once you get past that damn diamond cut effect laquer. its hard as bloody nails. thanks for the advice on protecting them, i have one of them machine mart kits am on 2nd stage soap bar with 2 of the wheels and 1st stage with the 3rd, but the 4th im saving for last as its the worst one. ive gone from a 240 grit to a 1200 wet/soapy then onto the polish bars, brown then blue. the finish is not mirror but its pretty good for a

am thinking of doing this on the saturday with a few of the dubscene.net guys. IF i can get my front screen replaced by then. should be worth a laugh, and maybe a few runs up the strip to show some little boy racers a thing or 2

best way to remove charcoal canister
gavinvr6 replied to russj249's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
i done that to mine a while ago and it runs perfectly fine, and makes a wonderful noise, also to do mine i just removed the front bumper for access. i tried using the outside air temp sensor to measure intake temps but it never worked and now i got a little hole in my samco pipe and a knackered temp sensor lol -
could of just taken the spoiler from the vr boot lid and bonded it to the cl boot lid
