  1. Why don't you just bleed all nipples? I just connected a pressure bleed and opened all the nipples rear to front, no VAG-COM, no 5051. Simples.
  2. So many mis-fires!!! My other VR6 has been taken off the road after developing a misfire, replaced plugs, leads, and coilpack, repaired a rub through on the cylinder head loom, still no joy!! no fault's stored either!!! Ring VR is nearly ready, compression test is good, 170 on all 6 :-) sunroof is out, wheel sensor and harnesses went on today, fire extinguisher in, we will be ready for tomorrow night, everything is packed, just waiting for thursday now. Can't fookin wait!!
  3. Everything is sorted apart from the car, we have the ABS light on, and pad warning light because there is no loom for pad wear sensors!! :-s I went to try on a new helmet yesterday, having never worn one before, i only realised when i looked in the mirror that i'm 6"7 in a hat and i aint fitting in my car, so up early tomorrow to get car to my mates body shop, remove the sunroof, separate the glass, make a lip for glass to sit on and panel seal it in,and then back to work for 8.30! that should give me an 1" or so Rear wheel sensor to fit when i get chance, and figure out this brake warning li
  4. Do you know which side it is? I is thinking clutch and bearing.
  5. We had an issue with a dust collar that slides onto the stub axle behind the disc which caused a screeching sound. Handbrake cable could be sticking, other than that, give them 300 miles, let them bed in, if it still does it, take it back.
  6. Breakdown cover suggestions for europe? preferably an annual UK policy with Euro option?
  7. It's a central locking pump, it's a vacuum pump, and will run on if there is a leak in the system, causing the whirring noise.
  8. Got both on mine, Eibachs are a must. They sort out the roll perfectly. I poly bushed rear beam, front wishbone's both bushes, and the rack bush. Rear beam bushes again are a must, and easier to fit than VAG. In the dry she'll cock a wheel, but any grease and she has slight understeer, that's with coilies dropped 60mm, 215 tyre's and -2 deg of camber on the front, and no interior. As for the squeaking, i lathered all the bushes in copper slip before i fitted them, get extra copper slip, the satchet is not enough!
  9. Alright dude, just read your post on the other thread and it sound's to me like the input shaft bearing's are screwed, but if your gonna strip it, you may as well do the output and diff bearing's. At least i hope it is anyway. Rather the box than the block. Good luck.
  10. You need to get your battery tested. If that's ok, clean all your earth's up. Check the crank power of the battery too, i've seen a few with wrong batteries on.
  11. Nothing better than starting the day with a DISS!
  12. I'm a mechanic for VW, my dream job.
  13. Ideally, a pressure test is required. Are your heaters getting hot? Have you had a look around the water pump area both primary and auxillary? Checked thermostat housing leaking? The connecting pipe along the front of the engine? If your putting in a litre a week, unless your burning it, it should be quite easy to spot.
  14. Regulator on it's way out. Motor stick's or slips, eventually wrapping the cable around the spindle and jammin'.
  15. Are there any restrictions or eye brows raised at cars having sponsorship decal's or advertising on them? Our car will have some company decals on it, and don't want it to cause any prob's.
  16. Take a torch, tyre's, brakes, play in the steering, noises from steering, does it pull, clutch slip, coolant level and colour, brake fluid level and colour, shock absorbers. Basically, the more you check and find wrong, the cheaper you can get the car for. I'm a nightmare to sell a car to!
  17. We're coming from chester so being in convoy may be a little difficult. We trying to get a hotel at Dover on the thursday, as it's gonna be a long drive down, so i can get a bit of a chill in before the madness.
  18. I had a panic last night, and you can get insurance for £100 a day, it pays for track damage only though. Are helmet's compulsory?
  19. 1x XL black hoody "Jonesy" 1x L black hoody "Rhidub" Thank you.
  20. I've done a liitle browse through the 100 pages on this thread, and there seems to be a general consensus on the spends of around £500? Is that fuel and laps inclusive? Is anybody taking out insurance for the ring? Does anybody know if the VR breaks the noise restrictions with a two box system, decat and six branch?
