  1. We'll be there but only coming down at some point (hopefully early) on saturday, we have a wedding on the friday, so putting a time on it might not be worth the paper its written on! Would like to camp with you guys though if poss, Rhian gets the tickets through her work, so any info on how we can still "legally" camp with you would be appreciated.
  2. Never had one snap before, ive rounded a couple but never snapped. Get a genuine CV boot too, spurious generally only last 12-18 months.
  3. Use a big pair of vice's on the flats of nut, if they're too tight for spanners, vice grips nice and tight do the job.
  4. Rhian and i cant make this as i have chicken pox, and Rhi wont go without me. Gutted we cant make it, but we do have the charger now, so i can fit that to make me feel better. Hope you all have an ace time.
  5. You'll have it sorted with them, i would have said do them first as they are common. I normally replace the bolts with caliper bolts as they are a bit longer.
  6. Hi all, just got online, found out our car managed 3rd on both days, not bad at all considering i weigh 0.1 ton!! Thank you from Rhian and myself, for being made so welcome yet again, for organisation of military precision (Ben), and a bloody good shove in the chest (Tony). Congratulations to Nat for your well deserved win, and apologies to Nigel for forgetting you on my last run, and to everybody for making a row on saturday AM. There was some awesome machinery on show, found this on the tube with me, tony but more importantly, that white vento getting a good spanking.
  7. Cheers Ben, we looking forward to this very much now, we will meet you there at 4 then mate we got the day off so we have plenty of time to get ready, and we will be bringing essentials like food and booze, weather is looking good so suncream for the shiny bonce is a must also!
  8. Rhian and I have full weekend camping tickets but Rhian got them through work, so the choice of club stand wasn't exactly an option.:-( Does this mean we won't be able to camp anywhere near you lot?? or come to the VR6OC stand?? We are coming down on the Friday in the green one i think, although i have suggested taking the TDI too, so i can remove the passenger seat maybe... Also, Rhian's boss is coming down on the Sunday, in something a bit special, for you FI guys to get your teeth into! Not promising anything though, he may just bring the RS4. I'm not one to stir things up, but i believe C
  9. Pressure test the cooling system as an Oil cooler internal fault is more than likely, but if it was thick in the header tank it is gonna be a dirty system, and will require several flushes to remove a majority, and then a reflush after 1000 miles. Don't want to tell you to suck eggs, but don't flush a hot engine with cold water. :-)
  10. I'm plodding through this game on career mode. Online is pretty pants as everyone is playing MW2. Would like to be good enough to race with pistonheads guys though, i'm a bit gash at the min.
  11. Alright fella, not a prob with the fix, sorry it didn't last, the coilpacks are ropey once they've let the insulation go, so good luck with that! Check them leads again too, at night if poss. Same process though, water bottle and spray the lot, will show up no prob. Check the wiring to the cylinder head where it goes over the coolant hose from the expansion tank, if the gearbox mount is worn, it can rub through and cause problems. Cheers for the offer dude, i will keep that in mind. Unfortunately, as you saw, i'm pretty busy in work, and with 2 VR's a TDI and two kids, time is bloody precious
  12. The roll back function is to avoid chopping off little fingers etc... it means there is a restriction at the point it drops, either on the motor or the glass channel. Welcome to the club.
  13. The Scirocco R is a bit of monster, spins the front wheel's in the dry in 2nd. Chassis is spot on with the sport button on. I would have the TSI on 18's in white, they look the dog's danglies.
  14. Get a spray bottle, fill it with water and spray it over your coilpack and lead's, If it's ignition system arcing out, that will pin point it. I'm in Chester, but i'm off to the races tomorrow, so off work till monday :-) if i do go to work on saturday, i don't mind plugging it in for you.
  15. If your bored get something new, if your not then don't. I will never get rid of one of mine, it's worth more to me in sentiment than it is in money. I will never tire of the induction roar, and the endless amount's of torque. I bet you couldn't pull a caravan with a VTS! The VR6 was so much more refined than it's competitors, have you seen the interior on these cars, anybody driven the saxo's, you need to be under 6"3 and have size 7 feet! FFS the VR is bullet proof if looked after well, if you have done the head gasket properly, it ain't goona go for another 100k! I am heavily bias, as i w
  16. Check your fuses. All fault's are separate circuit's. Check the connections to the consuming component's. That's a start.
  17. Anybody know a software program i can use to get the videos off a sony handycam? I've done the photo's, i'm trying to sort the videos now, then we'll upload the lot.
  18. Don't forget B7's are slow... seriously, they are, ish.
  19. Keeping it VAG? I reckon a V6 Bi-turbo of some sort. :-)
  20. Have you checked your fuses? E-box on top of the battery especially. Connector to the coilpack for corrosion or damaged pins. All the plugs are gapped correctly? Get the fault code read, it should give you your answer, as you have zero spark. Good luck dude.
  21. Sound's to me like you got a bearing issue on the input shaft, if that's what's causing your selector issue, then it's serious. Did you check the input shaft when you were doing the clutch? You need to get the box back out, inspect the clutch and shaft and see waht you find. No more new parts! Welcome to the site.
  22. We arrived home today at 4pm. We spent 2 day's drinking in London, car didn't get taxed either! A big thank you to everyone who came, and made Rhian and i feel so welcome. You really are a bunch of top people. Special thanks to Tony for the phillip's and the gaffa tape, Bungy for saving our weekend from being a wash out, and Ben for the organisation of military standard. We have lot's of images and video, we will try get through them as quickly as possible. We are also looking to go back again this year, maybe as soon as next month... we shall see!
  23. my girlfriend and i are sitting having steak in the dover east ferry terminal premier inn, took us 4h48 mins to cover 275 miles with two stops and the average speed camera's, average speed overall 59mph ;-). Just for your info, major smash on m6 at merge with m1. Safe journey to all. Where is everyone meeting or are we just hitting the ferry?
  24. We packed and leaving in the morning, not looking forward to the easter traffic tomorrow, but it'll be worth it, 630 miles to go, next time we speak, will be in person, 6am friday, see you there people.
