  1. I feel like there should be a new thread devoted to the sound out of that thing!
  2. Just started uploading some vids. Here's the most important one. Turn it up loud
  3. Thanks again for a wicked time, had a right laugh saturday night. Sunday was a scorcher and i think i have the most sunburnt right arm in the world. Good to see you all again, see you at santa pod!
  4. It's likely that the plugs are shot, the leads have not been fitted correctly (which i have seen alot) or the coilpack is arcing. With the engine running, let the bonnet down onto the back of your head (seriously) and look at each of the connections to the plugs and at the coilpack, you will most likely see something arcing out. If nothing is apparent, use a spray bottle with water and lightly spray it on the ignition system, if there's a weakness the water will make it visible. Try this and let us know how you get on.
  5. We got the wrist bands today. We will be coming from Llangollen which is a 2.5 hr drive, including some North Wales A roads on saturday morning. Is there anything anybody would like us to bring, tools that may be required etc, or food or ale? Looking forward to this, praying for dry weather, it's looking good at the mo'
  6. I know a lad who has the plus model which has the limiter removed, Audi say it increases top speed to 175! He put a Miltek on it and mapped it to 720bhp. He says it will do well over 200mph. God knows how he found that out! :S
  7. Just had a Blackhole exploit threat warning. Amma outahere!
  8. I think that figure is in NM. Ours made 247hp and 250 lb/ft.
  9. Voted mate. Good luck to your sis.
  10. Oil in the plugs is likely to be the rocker cover gasket. If your having problems starting and with cutting out, i'd have a look at the throttle body for build up around the butterfly.
  11. Im shocking! My scanner is inop too so i will do my best. I think the part you need is referred to as a relay lever, part no. 1J0 711 256, i think he said it was a dealer only part. ETKA illustration number is 711-24, item number 49 is the lever and 36 is the nut. I have also had to replace this part as mine went brittle and snapped when taking the box out. Send me a PM if you have any probs.
  12. Could be the CV, may also be ball joint, t.r.end.wishbone bush, arb link etc. CV's make a very distinct noise and more noticable on full lock.
  13. I lathered the axle bushes in copper slip to avoid the annoying squeak.
  14. It needs to be cut to fit. I got a miltek and i had to lop 6 inches off it.
  15. Hi mate, did you sort this? Sorry, i've had the details since last week.
  16. Are all the parts new? If your confident there is no air in the system (7 litres!!!) id let them run in and bleed them again.
  17. I can get one. I'll sort it in work tomorrow.
  18. A marked 530d, a grey 10' A6 estate,a silver 10' A6 estate and a silver Octavia estate VRS are regulars on the A55. Although the officers are generally decent unless you've been an utter tool.
  19. Sound deadening roughly 3-4kgs, depending on seats i would say the standard seats weigh 12-13kgs and as an example our Cobras weigh 10 each. Sunroof blanked off so you lose the glass and the cassette, spare wheel for tyre weld, so no jack. A/C ripped out, lightweight battery, plastic windows, lightweight wheels? Unfortunately the rear seat backrest is a biggy. We are now down to cutting bits of unrequired steel out of the car.
  20. In quariantine with my son at home because he has "slapped cheek disease" I kid ye not.
  21. I say renewal, but what i really mean is my membership has lapsed for a considerable time... do i need to fill out the application again? Thanks in advance.
  22. Leads could be arcing out? Seen it so many times, they are a tight fit.
  23. Cutting out could be a throttle body clean, they usually cut out when you come off the throttle, as the build up blocks the idle air inlet. Check your earths, and put 12V direct to the starter before you change it, if it turns over every time, it could be ignition switch or immobilizer.
