  1. Well no replys i guess what i was trying to say was how do you tell the difference between AAA 2.8 and ABV 2.9could someone please point me in the right direction
  2. Well vr6 aint running, the clever bloke i got to look at it said somrthin about it isn't making an initial spark and says it could be the ECU as when you turn it over the rev counter don't move at all. the prob i have is its a mk2 conversion and when i look at the yellow sticker on the side of the engine, the code starts AAA which makes me think its the 2.8 but when i look at the ECU the part number 021 986 258 AG which i think belongs to a corrado could someone please inform me of how i can tell the difference once and for all many thanks
  3. There is only to pipes on this box the small one is sealed think it is just a plug to hold it in place ( I know this cause I took mine apart looking for a leak after i heard hissing). I read about how oil leaks past the seals and up into the ISV and can cause it to start sticking when you take the black box off its quite minging inside so i just presumed it was some sort of oil catch to protect the ISV. Don't take this as gospel like i said its only a guess but i hope it helps.
  4. Well just to give you some more info managed to get the car off my drive and when i get it going it goes fine i.e. accelerating but then as soon as i take my foot off the throttle it cuts no matter what the revs (with the occasional back fire) So as far as i can tell it doesn't like to go under load to start with, then when it is its happy, then when i take it off load it cuts out all together and i either need to jump it using the momentum I've already got or turn the key again. Could the stable idleisation valve be causing it.
  5. Well I've got a mate who's into racin in a big way hookin it up to a diagnostic on monday. Already ordered some new plugs so didn't want to pull them untill new ones came but because of postal strike they've been delayed. Will let you know what it comes back with as soon as i know. I heard somewhere that the sprokets on the cams can come loose and cause this sort of problem this caught my attention because it taps slightly in the mid revs, anybody heard of this sort of thing before. Thanks for your help, will keep updating. oh one last thing whats the tolerance of resistance on the leads wh
  6. Been finding this site a great help for a while now but can usually find the answer on here after a bit searching but this ones got me stuck, so time to sign up, say hello and make my first post. Well the problem is this my car has been cutting out every now and then for a while then last Saturday it cut out and now it won't stop doing it !!! All i can tell you is the engine starts fine idles fine (if a little ruff) revs fine but as soon as i put it under load there is no power and it stalls. I can hear the fuel hissing through the pressure regulator so don't think its a fuel problem. If i
