  1. My leads are for a coil pack.
  2. The Magnecor leads that I originally had were breaking down after 6000rpm, thats when I switched to the Dubpower 10.8mm. Problem solved. If you want a set in red I am selling mine for £100 OVNO delivered.
  3. Unless you want to spend out on an expensive gearset your limited to 350 lbft of torque which Kev sees with 400hp. Anymore than that with a turbo and standard gearset, I reckon you are on borrowed time. My only regret was not to fit Schimmels 263 cams. Mine was dynoed with standard cams and 5 good cylinders and the headgsket leaking and it made 345hp on Sunday. Apart from the slight gasket failure its almost bullet proof.
  4. A word of warning regarding pistons, do your homework! I will be selling my engine with JE pistons and Forged rods in a month or so. It will depend on what you are after power wise though.
  5. If you want that sort of power then you will need the parts in my signature and very deep pockets to make it reliable. You will need to go coil pack and run stand alone which will make OBD1 or 2 irrelevant, the only differnce will be single or duplex top chain.
  6. Engine needs to go either up or down. Belt can go anywhere but must be routed correctly when reinstalling.
  7. Let me know if you have any questions mate.
  8. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2907820 Follow the first link for initial box split.
  9. 38mm internal puller or pilot bearing puller if your replacing the bearings. takes about an hour to split one down to the inside shafts. You will need to grind the pullers a little to get them to fit though!
  10. Same block but 82mm pistons. Everything you said is correct. Not sure why you need to change the head though if you just change the timing case, single or Duplex will run the same so long as you have the pickup on the cam sprocket. Cant help with the EGR valve, possibly blocked off some how.
  11. There is a couple of guides on Vortex and you can pick up Bentley Passat manuals on ebay for £20 delivered. Its not that difficult to do yourself you will need a few pullers though!
  12. Check out that mileage!
  13. LC4P is Purple Violet Pearl and the leather is Blackberry according to my Highline brochure.
  14. Ive got a B&M one, it gets mixed reviews but I like it. Got mine from the States as no one had one over here at the time. When Ive got the car back on the road in a couple of weeks you are more than welcome to pop over and try it for yourself.
  15. If there is a bolt in the centre then they un-bolt if there isn't wind in a transmission bolt into one of the 6 holes and it will push it out.
  16. Yes you can fit just the 5th GEARS. You can do it in less than 2 hours with the right tools and without taking the box out. Diesel 5th with standard FD will give you 70mph at just 2500RPM as opposed to 3000RPM ish standard.
  17. Vortech charger - Stealth Rotrex charger - Storm
  18. If you are thinking of fitting bigger calipers or discs on the front then 17"s will most likely be needed.
  19. I use a red spring now as the green one I had was leaking boost.
  20. Does that mean mines worth more than £12k then? I think not somehow!
  21. Ive only ever used Autometer gauges, top quality and accurate.
