  1. Is that after you accelerated hard because if its not and whilst cruising then I do think that is a little high. Was it a hot or cold day?
  2. If you are reading that from the MAF display that is oil temperature and 106 is fairly common I believe so nothing to worry about.
  3. The ECUs are seperate mate. You will need a 4 outlet master cylinder with a decent bore size circa 23mm or larger.
  4. Im not sure 500hp will be enough either . I feel that I could use a few more already . Have to see how it is with the diff.
  5. It may be worth looking at it from the point of view that what car is totally reliable with 500hp? For sure the R32 will handle power without any ill affects but it will always come down to how you drive it. You can eliminate some reliabilty issues with good maintenance and mechanical sympathy. Storm have a 650hp twin Rotrex R32 which starts on the button and I would imagine is fairly reliable. I have had absolutely no engine troubles with mine at all what ever the conditions. Even the transmission has been fine, admittedly its only been a 1000 miles but I see no reason why it will not last 10
  6. I have the same trouble with mine, I think its the membrains behind the door trim as I have checked everything else!
  7. All this talk about turbocharging! The Rotrex solution is the only way to go and you can drive it every day without any reliabilty or transmission issues if you choose the right clutch/flywheel combination. When I was at Storm Andy showed me an R32 and R36 engine, which I might add is only £2500 -£3000 new and easily tunable to 350hp normally aspirated. The improvement in development and technology over the VR6 is so evident! As I have said before, if I was starting from scratch again I would start with an R32 lump then the Rotrex.
  8. Cranks are the same mate, it was only the top chains that were different, besides all the chain setup can be swapped from one to the other. The replacement engine I used the crank from was an OBD1.
  9. I think its M10 X 1 but its been a year or so. I know Le Mans (LMA) on line sell them and it does say for VW if I remember correctly.
  10. Just fill the brake reservoir up. The clutch shares the same resrvoir. You will need to bleed the clutch though by the sounds of it.
  11. If a big end has gone normally you will find that the rod has rounded off and gone black with the heat. Same thing happened to me after a month of owning the car! I ended up buying an engine for £300 which I took the rods and crank from.
  12. Yeah thousands, one came up on ebay 18 months ago really regreted not buying it! The engine will loose some of its reviness also. Requires headspacer too which can effect timing.
  13. I think the charger with bracket, traction oil (£60 per litre!) and cooler was about £2k but it may have been more. To get the engine to where it is now though has cost me more than 4 times that.
  14. Yeah I do mostly town driving and I use it as my daily at the moment. Does the 4mo run 4 lambdas and 2 cats like the R32? If you go standalone it will simplify things.
  15. Whats your budget? If you run a similar spec to me you will see 400+ easily. The 12.5mpg is a joke though!
  16. Then it will depend on how much you want to spend as to what level of tune you go for. Should be fairly straight forward to do though to run 8psi for starters.
  17. Do you know how much torque the 4wd will handle?
  18. I have one on mine and cannot fault how the car runs. Andy supplied me with only the charger the rest I sourced myself. I know many people running these on Saxos and 106s. Some with well over 300hp!
  19. You should consider reading the Which report before buying a Recaro child seat mate! One of them scored 13 out 100!
  20. I normally have to drive the furthest to these rolling road days and I have to say Powerstation is as far as I can possibly go (140ish miles).
  21. Wow over 500bhp, whats your spec? you must running 25+ pounds of boost!
  22. I only get 150 miles to a tank of Super. 90% of the time I drive as econimically as I can too!
  23. The above is possible with standard mounts but not with Vibratechnics etc. Last time I did it I was changing the oil too.
